Welcome back! I hope that ur refreshed and in a healthy state of mind Can I get both kanekis yomo touka and ayato looking at their s/o and being really happy and appreciative of just having them (s/o) in their lives. Im in such a cornball mood 🙈🙈
Aw, thank you for your well wishes! I hope thiswas cute and fluffy enough for you!
KANEKI and his partner are in the city for no apparent reason other than hispartner insisted that he needed some fresh air and him deciding to humor theirwhims. They’re practically bouncing with all of the energy in their smallframe. “Kaneki, if you don’t hurry up I’ll leave you behind.” They turn aroundfrom where they stand just ahead of him, with a smile reminiscent of the sunglittering off the sea. He just gives them a nervous laugh before catching upwith them. In a single bold move his partner takes his hand in theirs, apologizing for their sweaty hand. “It’s okay, my hand is sweaty too, see?” Andthe two of them laugh with unprecedented mirth. His partner is oblivious to thewords around them, but he hears the onlookers loud and clear, speaking amongstthemselves about how happy the two of them looked, to take their mushy couplestuff elsewhere, and perhaps the most embarrassing of all came from an elderlycouple. “My, I wonder when the two of them will be engaged.”
SHIRO!KANEKI knew that he had been neglecting his partner lately. The twoof them knew it could not be helped, and even though his partner could notunderstand, they waited patiently for him. Just as he thought of them, he hearsa knock on his door that could only be produced by the hand he knew so well. His partner comes in at his prompting, their hands behind their back with asort of uncertainty and nervousness in their smile. When they managed to speakit is an unsteady “I have something I need to tell you.” And he thinks thatmaybe they are tired of waiting for him, that they have decided to heed hiswords and find someone that would make them happier than his current selfcould. He braces himself for the hurt he will undoubtedly feel at their words, but those words don’t come. Instead they take the thing they had been hidingbehind their back and shoves a colorful book in front of him. At theirprompting he opens it and finds that it’s a scrapbook. “I’ve been writing astory and I wanted your input on it. I want you to help me write it.” Theirwords come out so fast that it takes him a minute to process them, and anothertwo to realize what they mean. “I love you.” The two of them say the words atthe same time and Kaneki finds himself cracking a genuine smile after whatfeels like decades.
YOMO glanced at his lovers sleeping face. They seemed utterly carefree intheir sleep, lips part as they shift in their sleep, muttering softly. It issuch a contrast to the life he leads, bloody out of necessity, that he’smomentarily struck by a thought. How lucky he is to have met them amidst thecarnage that seemed to hum in the background of everyone’s lives. He brushessome hair out of their face with a gentleness he didn’t know he had beencapable of. And it’s that moment when he realizes yet again how much he loveshis partner, the reassuring weight of their affections on his shoulders. Thatdespite the world he is a part of, despite the sins he’s committed, he managedto find a blessing in the shape of a person. Yomo thought he’d given up allsuch notions, such sentimentality years ago, yet here he is, nearly overwhelmedwith how important this single person is to him. He tugs the blankets overtheir form and quietly exits the room, kissing them on the forehead and biddingthem goodnight. His actions say all the things words fail to, that that personin front of him is the most precious thing in the world.
TOUKA looks at her partner. It isn’t as if they’re doing anything special;they’re just organizing some stuff around the house. She had long given up ontelling them that it is unnecessary for them to do, but they always seemed sohappy in doing so. There couldn’t be any harm in letting them have their wayevery now and again. “Um, Touka, where does this go?” they gesture to a stackof papers she recognizes as some old school notes. Touka tells them they canjust throw them away; they are a year old by now and the rabbit herself doesn’tknow why she kept them. “Okay! Thank you dear!” and they smile that samebrilliant smile that she seems to fall for again and again. Touka could neverforget how they met, how they grew closer over both painful and joyfulhappenings, and she wonders just how all of that coalesced into this. How couldit have happened to someone—something—likeher? All of the times Touka needed someone for anything, they had always beenwilling to offer what help they could give. She crosses the threshold betweenthem and embraces them from behind. “Thank you.” Touka mumbles into theirshoulder. Her partner just laughs softly in response.
AYATO looked at his partner, splayed out across the bed mumbling somenonsense about cute fluffy animals in their sleep. They shouldn’t be here, withhim. His life is filled with blood and violence and gore and he knows he won’tbe able to protect them from all of it forever. He knows his partner isn’t somepure, divine saint, but they seem that way to him. They aren’t always patient, they’re feelings get hurt too often, and there are a dozen other things thatmake them so much less than a god, but they’re here. With him. Despite knowing that their decision could get themkilled, they still chose to stay, over and over again. He lowers himself on thebed and holds their hand in his. He’s fucked up a lot and he knows he’s goingto mess up again, but as long as his partner is willing to stay with him, hewon’t let go of their hand. “…ato?” his internal monologue is interrupted byhis partner’s sleepy voice and he nearly panics. Did he perhaps wake them up?“Ayato I’m really happy that you’re here…” Their breathing steadies once moreand he realizes that they’re still resting peacefully. He tightens his handaround theirs. “Yeah…me too.”
