Days had come and gone. Nights passing by in snaps of fingers. And here he was, still stuck in the middle of pond and a hot place. The simple reason to not change back was out of fear he would overheat in mere seconds and pass out from heat stroke. The ponds had sufficed to keep him cool at costs. The rain had been better but it all came at the toll that nothing could be checked upon. Focus was dim and strained and his only priority was to keep moving, even at the sluggish pace. Hope had sprung that the skies would rain but that soon passed. So forward was where he went, searching for a scent or sight marker. Something to tell him where he was.
Circles. It was sure as hell looking like he passed that stump four times now. Sighing the lumbering beast paused, gnawing away at the wood. Then a pause. What was that scent? Familiar scent. He knew it. Finally a mark in the some direction!
“Huh? Notice something?” the voice chirping up from the loosened rope dangling his waist. A huffing sort of bark was his only response, chewing the wood to bits and running off towards the smell. Hopefully some good news if he wasn’t batted on the head first. Hopefully better news than the heat bearing down on him despite the clouds.
