Natural and Not-At-All-Natural Brain Meds
My 15-year-old daughter with autism and myself both have pretty severe ADD. I am starting to treat hers naturally by using the Keto diet as a way to clear the brain fog. Meanwhile I am going to use Western medicine to clear mine.
Strattera - I tried Strattera over these past few days...not for me. The side effects went from bizarre (constant goose bumps) to the usual (depression, anxiety and numbness). So that is a nope. I will talk to my new student psychiatrist tomorrow and I am going to ask her for Modafinil paired with a muscle relaxant. The reason for the muscle relaxant is that I have tried Modafinil in the past and I LOVE it but it causes terrible headaches in the back of my head and in my neck and jaw. I just read https://modafinil.org/modafinil-headache/ that taking a muscle relaxant could help this.
Today I made a bunch of fathead bagels and some cauliflower English muffins for my daughter so we can get her into ketosis and back to clarity. I’ll let you know how it goes.
