Of course i wont know if its good or not until i hear his voice when the episode releases, but its looking good so far!

His higher voice is making me look up for it, but im excited to see how the directing takes his performance.

Omg thank you so much!!! This is such a nice comment to wake up to!!! X333 Also I feel you - it might not look like it with what I've been posting lately, but like I've been struggling so much with coloring my stuff most of the time! It's been really hard to truly be satisfied with it, you know? But I think I'm slowly figuring out what works, I'm definitely super happy with how the redraw turned out at the very least! XDD As for tips to how I paint my stuff, let's see...

Find a nice color palette to use that speaks to you and fits the mood you try to breathe into your piece

Apply those colors as flats throughout your piece (for example, this was the palette I was working with - I mixed the colors from that palette to achieve the greens I needed for the different skin tones and the purple accents) PRO TIP : for harmonious colors, always mix from the colors in the palette!!

Quickly and messily block out the darker zones and the highlights in your piece (in this case, I used the browns as my shadow colors and the light blues as my highlights) and add pops of out-there colors around too just because you can!! (I added reds in the shadows of their clothes(??) and blues in the shadows of their skin!!)

And then, REFINE THAT SHIT!!! Work it and paint it 'til everything looks 3 dimensional and the transitions between the lights and shadows are smooth~~ (since I'm a madman (gender neutral), I like doing all of my shading/painting in one singular layer XD - I usually use a sponge-like, marker-like brush at mid-ish opacity so that I can layer my brush strokes over and over to get the smoothness between colors that I want)

And finally, to make it POP, add neat lighting effects to your piece!!! Rim lighting, and trying to emulate subsurface scattering and the light bouncing around are true lifesavers at adding depths to your piece XDD

...this turned out longer than I thought but I hope this is helpful to you Anon!!! Truly, if you have fun and aren't scared to experiment, you'll have a great time painting your piece, I believe in you!!! X3

About next chapter... Argh I don't wanna spoil anything. But. I love the Bakuras so so much (they are my favorites and that's no secret) so of course I've planned a ton of things for them. So much is coming in the following chapters. Without spoiling anything, I can only say that tendershipping will have its moments. Several glorious moments.

So uuuh yeah sorry I can't say anything more concrete. But, if it's any consolation, I have planned everything that will happen ever since I started this fic, and I know exactly where every relationship is going. Keeping that in mind, every chapter is part of the plan (necessary buildup I guess, or at least what feels necessary to me to create an organic story). I know the slow-burning is slow-burninging, but it's all leading up to a specific something. I guess for now all I can do is write faster and hopefully finish the next chapter soon. <3

This sounds like an insanely cool project, honestly. It's such a shame the original set was used so little in season 3 and now doesn't exist anymore. If I have my behind the scenes trivia right, it was one of the most expensive parts of Season 1 because it was such a huge contiguous set. But in my opinion, that definitely added to the sense of place and reality.

Anyway, yes, if someone was going to sit down and build this ship (I'm assuming as a 3D model? 😅), I would be thrilled to be involved!
