     The sizable distance traveled can be forgiven.

       Eyes feigning apathy pore over the substandard conditions of a modest home. These surroundings are gravely unfamiliar to him. A cheerless air thins between a product of neglect and the door. Jonathan carries no memories of her, but her irresponsibility as a mother is still ripe. His inquisitive stare sours as he picks against a lock. 

     Rounding his stare across silent halls, the aggrieved son drifts inside in avid search for a wretched creature. She will not earn generosity of him. With every step, he is driven deeper into antipathy. Each room calls for his wonderment, a pensiveness he’s unwilling to give. 

    Her frail shape catches the peripheral, and his head turns smoothly. 

      A raw sort of talent is required to catch Jonathan off guard, and words escape him in his pensive observance. 

                                        Until...

      “You’re alive.”  Crane glacially informs, but of what he’s come to understand, she couldn’t possibly remember him.
