"Award-winning" journalist makes stupid Tweet - Read what happens next
Tim Pool
Tim Pool is a journalist (excuse me, “Award-winning” journalist) who has been following the protests around the country. On December 5, he tweeted the most idiotic statement ever:
It’s time to take guns away from police.
— Tim Pool (@Timcast) December 6, 2014
What happened next was nothing short of poetic: It became a game of “dog pile on the silly journalist.”
@Timcast Huh? — Tony Dean (MNWild) (@TonyDeanHB) December 6, 2014
@Timcast LMAO! This fool is blind.

@Timcast stupidest thing I think I’ve ever heard — Blake Reid (@B_Reid1521) December 6, 2014
“@Timcast: It’s time to take guns away from police.” <— “award winning journalist”

@Timcast LMFAO! You’re out of your mind. — Mike (@GMan12201) December 6, 2014
@Timcast Totes. Should work really well when we disarm cops in havens of peace and tranquility like Chicago and Detroit. Brilliant!
— SunnyRight (@sunnyright) December 6, 2014
@TonyDeanHB stfu — Kenny (@Kwick13) December 6, 2014
@Timcast And when there’s a workplace or school shooting, who do you want showing up but cops with sticks and pepper spray?
— SunnyRight (@sunnyright) December 6, 2014
@Timcast Disarming the law in a nation of 310 million guns? I mean, what could possibly go wrong. Good call. — SunnyRight (@sunnyright) December 6, 2014
And the dumbass of the day goes too—> RT @Timcast: It’s time to take guns away from police.
— Blizzack (@blizzack44) December 6, 2014
@jason_howerton @Timcast Good luck changing the constitution. You might want to read up on the procedures. It’s a jim dandy tough ride. — Mary Stewart (@Mswilcat) December 6, 2014
@jason_howerton I wonder if @Timcast has a gun. He’ll need one if cops aren’t armed. #Headdesk.

“@Timcast: It’s time to take guns away from police.” You’re drunk, go home — pdotshanny (@pdotshanny) December 6, 2014
@MomMilkshake @Timcast shit, why stop there? Let’s take the walls off prisons!
— ZanTabakOnAMobile (@mhp79_sfa) December 6, 2014
After everyone had their fun (and no, that’s not all of the responses), Tim Pool apparently decided he’d made a mistake, so he tweeted a caveat to the first one:
For clarity, I meant from cops who are screwing up #seeprevioustweet — Tim Pool (@Timcast) December 6, 2014
The original statement was made at 7:32pm, the caveat came after 11pm. Tim does have an impressive list of credentials on his website, but reading the rest of his tweets places his “journalistic objectivity” in question. He’s wearing a bulletproof vest in his Twitter profile pic- but we think he needs it more from the snide remarks than from the police. #post- .CPlase_panel display:none;
