CONFOUND THOSE 3RDS THEY DRIVE ME TO DRINK
While navigating the small crowd, Ring spotted a barefooted man much smaller than the rest. Bingo. He slips past the others with no presence and kneels down to Toad's level. Despite his disgruntled texts, the cop looked visually calm.
"<So that's where you've been hiding>," he jokes finally. Even his weary eyes smiled. "<Sorry your 'friend' paid a visit. Tell me all about it over shots.>"
Ah, drinking. It was primarily his tool for bonding with family and friends. For better or worse, as it didn't make him any less concerned about that. At least his busy life mostly kept him away from bottles.
It also made him less of a cold zombie. Speaking Russian among his brothers was like shutting out the rest of the world.
"<You're not hurt, are you?>"
Humpty Dumpty
Cossack hefted Toad up onto the work table back at his bigger lab in the city, Plants place was nice but it didn't have the static free environment he needed to repair his son. Nor his back ups, because when he'd disabled Toad, he'd fried him, as pained as he was for having to do it. With a few muttered curses he gets to work.
It was the next day that Toad could turn back on at last, Cossack was snoozing with his head against the work table. Toad himself was plugged in everywhere to computers, scanners and a nice power supply, as his updates and virus software was updated. His back up was up to before he'd been infected.
The Garden Toad
The coordinates Toad had given him led to a land covered in snow. Not that Saturn minded; he preferred cold snow over dry and hot places anyway. And what was the little frog thinking, telling the Stardroid if 'he could survive cold places'? Would the little frog be surprised to see him not wearing any warm clothes, out in the snow?
For today, he wore a black long-sleeved shirt and a gray undershirt and black pants. A lapis lazuli choker adorned his neck and on his head is his favorite black beret, which served to hide his now short hair. Hardly winter couture.
Floating over the snow, Saturn looked around and saw no trace of Toad. "Oh, now where could that little frog be?" he muttered as he sent a message to him.
"I've arrived. Where are you?" the message went.
