“I’m fine, Mikey. Really.” Leo sniffed, rubbing at his nose. His voice was scratchy and broken, but he tried to keep it together enough to at least pretend like he believed his own words.
In all honesty, he felt dazed and a little sick to his stomach, but he wasn’t going to let a simple cold keep him bedridden all day. It would pass with time.
Besides, it didn’t feel right to stay behind while the others went on patrol without him.
“I just need to down some medicine before we head out. No worries.”
Mikey had heard aaaaall this before. Leo would cough and sniffle and sneeze but would still go out top-side. Say he would just take some meds. Say he would still come out it. Say he would still manage to get through the night. Aaaand--
--he’d promptly get his butt handed to him.
“Nononooooo, bro.” Mikey pushes on his shoulders, steering him back towards his room. “You gotta rest, dude. We’re goin’ with Karai tonight to raid some of Shredder’s old hideaways.” He looks up, raising a brow. “D’you reaaally think she’ll be impressed with your runny nose?”
