This was a really old piece that I had started years ago, but then decided to finish this year.Years ago, I had come up with a ninja character with a pet rat. Said pet rat would eventually be turned into a large humanoid talking rat.

Halcyon shut the door, leaving only April and herself in her office. She’d insisted on speaking to the girl privately, since it was evident that April would not tell her the truth while her aunt was present.

“Alright, look, kid. You can either keep wasting everyone’s time by rehashing the story you’ve told your aunt and everyone else who wants to know what happened to your dad,” Halcyon said, sitting down in her chair and staring at April intently. “Or you can tell me the truth, and let me do my job.”

She was silent for a moment before adding, “Whatever you say will not leave this room. You have my word.”
