“Hey Leo, come check this out. I’ve got something I think you’ll like.”

The genius was making his way out of the lab, an odd device cradled carefully in his hands. It looked like a version of their phones, only smaller... more compact. And, oddly, familiar. Though in a strange, surreal sort of way.

“I was sorta half listening while you were watching old Space H eroes reruns the other day, and I glanced in when they were messing around with those long-range communicator devices. I figured something like that would be pretty handy, y’know? So... check it out. I’m just calling it the T-Phone 2.0 for now, but maybe you can help me think of something better.”

“Leonardo...” The rat appears as if out of nowhere from behind the turtle, his voice strict in tone yet laced with curiosity. “As I recall, being ‘grounded’ means that the television is prohibited.”

He raises a brow, brown eyes darting to the television screen. Space Heroes, of course. “Would you care to explain to me what exactly it is you are doing right now?”

He had never been very good at handling his family. Even before everything that had happened, he was much better at being logical. At solving problems with his mind. He was book smart, a genius. But you couldn't just fix something like this. He had spent most of his day in the dojo, going over new katas as he regained muscle mass lost during his time unconscious. Now, though... now he was seeking out his oldest brother. "Leo...? Leo, hey... can we talk?" @honorinblue

Some nights, it was harder to focus than others. With everything happening, it was good to just get out and run... but to her surprise, she hadn’t run across Leo. At least not as often as she used to. But he had a lot on his plate, and he probably was really starting to really feel the chill of that long shadow he stood in.

But that wasn’t going to stop her from seeking him out, checking all the rooftop haunts she thought he might be perched on, until she finally spotted a familiar flash of blue, coming to a neat, silent stop several arm lengths away.

“Thought I might find you out and about.”

With his ears ringing, Leo could still make out the faint sounds of Mikey’s voice, looking up as they drew closer.

“Mikey…. over here.” He called out, his voice soft and raspy, but it should have been enough to get his younger brothers attention. Trying to stand, Leo hissed through his teeth, quickly falling back to his knees. His fingers scraped at the stone he was leaning against as he tried to push away the pain, leaving behind a bloody hand print.

“Di- did anyone follow you?”

Mikey had a number of mixed feelings when he finally discovered his brother, most of which fell under the category of “worry.” The fact that Leonardo was conscious, however, was a good sign. That was a lot of blood, but if he was still talking then maybe he’d be okay... Pulling his cloth bandage free from his belt Michelangelo immediately went to work searching for the most dire injury
