.01 the time of Awkenings was probably the "happiest" for Marcus. not in the sense that he was emotionally happy throughout that time but it was a time when he was finally settling with his demons and his past. it was the time when he could finally bury his parents, when he finally settled with the fact that he was now a Grey Warden and that would be his life from here on out, and finally the time when he felt like he had a place and that was with the Wardens. he felt like his life finally had some sort of stability in it and it was a concept he had forgotten in the Fifth Blight.
