He never thought that there would be a day where he lost one of the people he adored and loved more than anything. It hurt. It always hurt. Losing those you cared deeply about, but if they were truly meant to be, they would always find their way back into your life. And L.Joe clung to that thought. He knew it was his fault so he never blamed her, but he hoped that one day, he could make things right again. That even if the word 'Goodbye' was said, it would only be momentary for those who were meant to be bound by fate. One day, he was certain, he would see her again.
Every day felt off after she left, like he was missing a part of him. It sounded dramatic -- and not in the romantic sense -- but it was true. He couldn't stop thinking about the memories they shared or all the fun they had or how happy she'd make him. He couldn't decide if it was a good thing or a bad thing, but he knew it was important. After all, what is a shadow without his light? They can't truly exist unless there is light in the world, and maybe he was missing that part of him. Being lit up but a bright, powerful light, like her, one who understood him better than most and stayed by his side even when he was at his worst, was something he took for granted and he was hoping it would come back to him. He didn't blame her for leaving in the end. Sometimes you leave the people you care about in order to help them become a better person. After all, some distance between close friends helps the relationship grow and strengthen, even if it feels terrible during the time in between.
Walking through the busy streets by himself, L.Joe kept his eyes on the ground and his hands in the pocket and avoided everyone who came close to him. He left all his pets at home and didn't tell anyone where he was because he wanted some time alone. It wasn't exactly a cold afternoon, quite the opposite in fact, but to the shadow, it wasn't like he could feel the difference in temperature anyways. Shadows were quite cold in temperature, which is why people got shivers when they played tricks on people. (That and because they don't feel the sun, they can't really revel in the warmth.) He stopped at a stop light and waited for the tun signal, taking a moment to glance at it to see it's statuses. And that's when he saw her.
It was the same soft, dark, long hair that lifted slightly in the soft breeze of a summer day, the same way she held herself in her walk that showed superiority and attitude, the same facial features and petite frame that he knew. He knew who she was and without a second thought, started chasing after her. He stopped a few cars and got honked at -- nearly even hit, but that didn't stop him. He followed her for a few blocks and had the feeling that she was purposely leading him away from people. Because the longer he followed her, the less people were around. And it angered him; it honestly pissed him off, because if she knew he was following her, why didn't she acknowledge his existence? Was she honestly that hard-headed to give him a second chance?
He thought he had better control of his feelings and the hurt he felt with the past but it was all for naught as he finally caught up to her. L.Joe forced her to face him by spinning her around after grabbing he shoulders before slamming her frame into the nearest wall as a black mist rolled off his features. He growled lowly, his tone dark and threatening as he looked down on the female in his grip.
"Long time no see, Suzy."
