Today was the day they had planned to go to the zoo, and several outfits ranging between a sundress and hat, to shorts and a nature themed t-shirt were laid out on the little girl's bed.

"What do you think, Kisa? It's going to be really warm today, you have a choice between one of your dresses or shorts and a t-shirt."

They couldn't have asked for a better forecast!

Oh this is going to be cute!

*Yuugi not only learned how to maintain long hair for her, he learned how to braid and style it for her too! Luckily he knows about makeup too for when she is ready.

*They have games they made up together that they only play with each other.

*Yuugi reads to her before bed every night, even if he is working late he will stop to do it. If he isn't home then he will call.

*Yuugi can see Blue and includes her in everything they do together just like another part of the family, because she is.

Whatever she may need, Kisara can always approach him for comfort. She doesn't need to say why, and if he asks she does not have to answer. He only asks if it seems something is wrong.

Yuugi puts an arm around her to hold her close with a soft smile.

The house smelled of chocolate when Yuugi strode down the hall, and he followed it to the kitchen to find a pan of brownies cooling on the counter. From the look of it, and the frosting and sprinkles sitting near it, it was easy to see what his alter had been up to in the time prior to peering into the mirror. It seemed he had the leisure time to do such things.

The tingling sensation that he was being watched caused Yuugi to turn, narrowing his eyes suspiciously, grip tightening on the cane he carried. Big blue eyes stared at him from the doorway, and his shoulders sagged as he realized there was no threat. Just a child.

Ah, that explained the brownies.

He never was good with kids.

"You shouldn't sneak up on people like that."

"Dad.. can, can you help me?" Shyly she peers around the door.

Sensing the rather negative energy coming from him she'd been trying to avoid her dad hoping whatever was going on would pass.

For the better part of the day, he had holed himself up in his home office under the guise of being hard at work. In reality, no work was being done. It was just a sure way to make sure he would not be bothered.

"What is it," He snapped as the door creaked open. He hadn't even looked to see who it was. He rubbed his temples as Kisara spoke. No matter his mood, he did have responsibilities. He swiveled the chair around and stood.

"Make it quick."

"I was never good with kids. I know people seem to think I'm naturally good with kids because I work hard to be kind, but I always found myself getting really frustrated around them. I never had siblings and didn't have many play mates.

So, I was worried I would be a bad father. Terrified. I didn't think I was ready, but she is precious to me. I would do anything to protect her. I don't always know what to do, but I think there are things she says and does that remind me of how I was when I was her age. So whatever I can to to reassure her I will do that. I know now just how far I've come in maturity."

He says, even though mouthy kids still piss him off.

Yuugi sits in the low chair at the little table they had gotten for her to play at. She had said she wanted to play a little game and that game turned out to be a pretend salon. He could play that game. As she brought out the little kiddie makeup kit they'd picked up for her on her birthday, Yuugi knew his husband would also get a surprise when he got home. That amused him greatly.

He got into character.

"I'm so glad you were able to squeeze my appointment in today, I know you're very busy. But I have this important event that just came up and I need to look my best!"
