A better introduction to: Monarch, his story and what he represents.
Monarch is one of the various off-branches of Shattered who've I've been working on for a while; and have been rewriting bits overtime so that I could use him without worry.
Topics relating to implied self-harm, spiraling and depression are within his story.
But so are aspects of acceptance and acknowledgement of yourself and the world and how there's people out there who care; who want you around.
through your own darkness you still should persist; the world and those around you can be impacted greatly if you were to leave.
A thought built on one’s own guilt, insecurities and faults after seeing just what he was doing to those around him.
Time and time again he had found himself repeating for something better... to only further put strain on problems unsolved.
To then later shape itself into an idealization; one that persisted to be around despite the attempts to dismiss it.
Having realized it was there; Shattered was avoidant. Dismissive... not wanting to be met with those thoughts.
Even with little action; it made things worse for himself and friends... holding onto something that was clearly gone.
He had believed it was the idealization causing all of these disruptions and occurrences- one's not so easily solved with conversations alone. It wasn't better when they had persisted in making a deal.
he placed blame on the subject; not knowing it was the actions of himself and those around him affecting him so much.
It made things worse for himself and his friends, being entrapped in this spiral, some had left over time... and eventually he came to the realization when it was all too late.
When others had suddenly gained an interest in the things he did and done; by that time he had left too for a better future.
Again it was offered; the deal for a lifetime.
It was... hard to pass especially after watching what he believed was his world fall apart one by one.
Having realized their true purpose, wanting to end a cycle he had carried on for so long... he had taken their hand.
Leaving behind a husk; something that should've been left a long time ago.
Their Memories taken elsewhere, to be cherished and renewed with time.
Both opportunities to make something new, to become someone new.
A being who had acknowledged himself and the world presented to him. knowing so much now made things so much more clearer.
He may have found himself in a dark place for some time, but now believes that with enough willpower that we as a whole can make a better place for themselves and others.
Monarch is a result of Shattered’s internal struggles; one’s that spiraled but soon later on became something to look back upon…to keep note of for his future.
Someone that's actively recovering his own willpower...
Someone who had saved himself, by believing in himself and the steps that had to be taken to do so.
“Forget and Forgive.”
The thought, the Idealization it's something all of us have... even when it's buried deep within our own minds; within the nothingness.
Most times it's overlooked, dismissed during every day life... But you find yourself most dependent on it when you find yourself at a wall, when you believe in in despair.
it is not the intention but the idea, behind who you are... the impacts it could leave; either on yourself or on others.
one that's life changing and eye opening.
It appears as you; being seen only by you for you're the one who brought it about; acknowledged it. wanting you to accept a better future for yourself and others... for a better change.
It tends to bring about memories which leave you thinking is this really the way to go?
he leaves you with thoughts in the end, not of wanting to leave but...
directing you to thinking better about yourself, one that sees everything the world has to offer and those around you who care so much.
second questioning and overriding thoughts that you can't go back on.
their deal; an offer is to leave those thoughts behind and renew yourself for the future.
to take who you are; your memories and reform them into the decision.
It may appear frightening, but it's all how you view it... how you see this part of yourself.
Despite gloomy days and frightening situations; just know there's always a brighter future ahead.
You might have to change, to give up things that you were endlessly clinging onto to end cycles and to start a new... but just know there's always going to be someone there embracing that part of you who has done so much.
You may not hear it, you may not see it. but deep down there's always a part of yourself who's proud in your progress. of your decision to move on from that which harms you the most.
That is Monarch's story. Someone who had found themselves in a loop of despair; to then free himself of those thoughts with a clearer picture.
He hopes that all of you can do the same if you ever feel like the world is falling apart.
to find a path, a version of yourself free of the thoughts and people who hold you back from going forward.
Like a butterfly he's free from the cocoon which held him for so long. ----- Monarch's Ref, it will be updated soon. -----
----- Concepts and inspirations ----- I've been wanting to share more about him and do more with him for a while but struggled with some insecurities, but after figuring out some things for him and myself I'm more confident. If you're wanting to see some concepts for the thought, idea and decision... here's a few. Some inspirations come from Annihilation's shimmer, Ajin's black ghosts and Warframe's own void.
I hope all of this helps summarize his story and how he came to be.
[ Albeit with rewrites. ]
the previous post was rushed and not so clear, but I'm hoping that this is a much better presentation of how he had gotten to this point.
I may at some point make a character sheet to explain how he is as a person but that can be saved for a later date.
the same goes for the Thought, Idealization and Decision when it's more polished.
