It had been a few weeks since the blonde made her escape into the night from Ryan’s house, knowing that dipping out wasn’t the most adult thing in the world but how could she face him after his joke? Inhaling, Skylar walked up the steps to the front door that she had walked through after the poisoning. She brought her hand up and knocked a few times against the wooden door as she turned her head to look over her shoulder, exhaling the breath she had been holding. She didn’t know what she was going to say but she had a bag of Mexican take out and a bottle of tequila in the other, hoping that maybe he’d forgive her enough to let her come in.

She was sat listening to yet another friend of her parents talk about her mom and what a great woman that they had lost, and wasn’t it such a shame, but hey at least she got back before she passed right? Which, of course, Harper hadn’t. She’d been the only sibling not to have made it, but that was another story. She was propped up on the table, her finger trailing lightly around the edge of the glass as he walked away finally and she heaved a sigh, glancing up to see Ryan. “Has he always been that obnoxious?”

“Ry?” Elodie called as she entered the familiar surroundings of his home. It was another warm night in Roswell and she intended to spend it on the couch beside one of her closest friends. Armed with a bag of snacks and a bottle of cheap liquor, she’d let herself in without hesitation, deciding that she was beyond the point of waiting to be let in. In her other arm was a bouquet of leftover flowers from the shop, an assortment of daisies, mums and carnations that she hadn’t been able to fit in any other arrangements. It wasn’t much, but she liked to believe that everyone deserved flowers.
