It was so funny watching max get all giggly and shy and excited in front of his crush on international tv I know what you are max verstappen
max was on one today, i haven't seen him thirsting this bad in awhile. the man is desperate to hit, no wonder gp uses charles to motivate max in the middle of a race.
So there’s this guy, who’s been the unlucky scapegoat of an unfortunate conspiracy for ten years and who’s now on the verge to undergo a trial for a homicide he hadn’t committed. What’s the best thing to do? Entering the scene totally unprompted and ignoring him completely, only to shift the conversation on his hair and complain about his stomachache. Hm, legit.
After trying to get all the spotlight on himself like the certified attention whore he is, he now pretends to notice the mean poor little meow meow in question, and...
...the two end up rightly exchanging brief greetings with a level of snark and passive-aggressiveness that is priceless. On one side there’s a man with zero social skills who can only reply with pettiness and sarcasm and, on the other, a jokester who actively chooses to mess around with people just for fun.
Notice Barok’s posture: he looks like a pouting child. (Not unlike Iris when she does pout, in fact).
They have issues, My Lord.
...right... I suppose Barok here thought that Sherlock wanted to throw digs at him (when in fact he was only pointing at the situation) but you have to appreciate the fact that Sherlock is one of the few people (if not the only person) who’s able to shut Barok’s mouth like this.
(Barok be like: who tf asked you)
bAROK 😭😭😭
Awww, Ryuu’s like >//<
Tread lightly, Holmes, Mr. Reaper is trying to be patient... (I mean, it does seem like he’s making fun of him, but he really isn’t...)
So putting his feelings of compliance aside for a minute, compare this to how he dismissed him in the first game. He first offered to “take care of him”, asked for evidence of his shooting when Ryu was literally there, treated him like a clown by demeaning him as a fictional character, gave him a time limit to help Ryu when he could hardly stand just to mock him later when he lost consciousness and now, all of a sudden, he’s trying to take him seriously after an answer like that?
While Sherlock is trying to warn him here and maybe to get him mentally prepared for the trial, I suppose that considering how he is and how he behaves, Sherlock may be also trying to offer him some encouragement, too. This possibility doesn’t seem totally lost on Barok, either...
I think this is a sweet setup for The Reveal, when Barok probably understands that in his own way, Sherlock has been nothing but nice towards him (not without some totally deserved bullying here and there, though).
But even then, if you think about it, Sherlock had to keep his distance for Iris’s sake, though he did try to silently and quietly keep an eye on his daughter’s uncle.
In the first game, he did throw a dig at him with that “oh it’s been 5 years since the last time you appeared in court, you're even paler than I remember” (which prompted Ryu and Susato to wonder if Sherlock knew him and Ryu concluded with “enough to be able to say that in his face”) or in the third case of the second game when he immediately read the news on him being attacked, as well. EDIT: Not to mention the DLC, where he organized to give Iris the chance to leave him a birthday gift, caught and got the guy who tried to poison him arrested and clean his chalice for him. It’s really not so subtle, but it’s really heartwarming, Sherlock does really have a heart of gold.
