Crochet and knitting patterns seem to come in two varieties to me.

i want dean coming back to the motel covered in blood and not muttering a single word. sam is confused and terrified cus that’s dean covered in blood but as sam undresses a nearly catatonic dean, he realizes it’s not his own blood and sam isn’t sure if that’s better or worse.

sam washes a motionless dean in a too-small shower with a too-rough wash rag and gets him to the bed but as sam tries to walk away, dean finally moves.

dean grabs sam’s wrist loosely, enough for sam to figure out that dean wants him to stay, so he does. he gets them both under the shitty motel blanket and dean remains motionless once more. until sam arranges them both for dean to be essentially spooning sam. a small whisper from dean

“m sorry”

sam hushes him

“do we need to leave in the morning” is all he responds with

“yeah” dean mutters

sam brings one of deans hands up to his mouth to kiss the cracked knuckles

“okay”
