she made it three states away from her family, by now they might actually start to worry that she won’t come back. it’s been longer than her normal three day disappearance, five days on her own and with no more money, she was stuck. the sun was starting to fade away and night was nearly approaching. she couldn’t be stranded and lost at night, it just wasn’t safe. desperate times called for desperate measures. standing on the ride of the road she had been walking for what felt like three months, indy turned towards the traffic, or lack of it, and popped her thumb up. all too many times she was told this was too dangerous and risky, but she was on her own now, it was time she made her own decisions. tapping her foot anxiously, she watched as straggling cars passed by. the sky was the color of a fresh bruise and she was beginning to lose hope.
