It hadn’t been an intentional snooping. She had just been sitting there and waiting for him to come back with their food when his phone lit up. There had been a brief glance down at it just out of habit and she was going to leave it alone, until she saw the heart and winky face emojis. Then her curiosity got the better of her. So she looked, figuring that maybe it was just a misunderstanding. But then the texts flashed on the screen from the other woman and she wasn’t happy. When he came back, that much was clear. She wasn’t sure what she was expecting from him, but the answer she got wasn’t what she wanted. A thoughtful hum is given when he says that, letting him take the phone once more. “Hmm, I guess you’re right. It doesn’t matter,” she muses with a soft chuckle.
Eyes glance over at him and she’s surprisingly calm, all things considered. She reaches for her drink and takes a small sip, just letting his words soak in for a moment before she said what she needed to say. “You know,” she finally speaks up, staring at him from across the table, “I could flip through the yearbook and pick a name at random and easily make that person fall for me... I can name like, twenty people who would get on their knees and beg for my attention,” she muses, head tilting a bit as she continues to look at her boyfriend. “Every guy on the football team, the cheerleaders... some of the teachers,” she lists off, fingers playing with the straw as she kept her voice even. “Anybody would jump at the chance to be with me. You do know that, right?” It wasn’t her being cocky, it was just something she knew. She had the ability to attract people so easily, drawing them to her like moths to a flame with her looks and personality. “So, if you want to go ahead and flirt with someone, and forget the fact that I’m the only one who can basically get you off now, be my guest.” She leans herself across the table a bit and brings her face close to his, cleavage on display in crop top she wore and blue eyes ablaze with her hidden jealousy. “But you know better than anybody that I’m like an addiction. And you’ll be left without your fix if you keep it up, Adonis,” she whispers to him, staring right into his dark eyes. She wouldn’t let him play her like some kind of fool, have her brush this aside and act as if he wasn’t trying to do something behind her back. She knew what her worth was and it wasn’t a second choice. She had told him that the moment they met.
