"Do I?" Matthew had in fact just popped up. A grin splayed across his lips, he reached up and smoothed his dark hair down. "How do you figure that, ma'am?"

At this point, Matthew was flirting. He knew he was never on time for anything nor could he plan very well, he knew his lateness could be an annoyance and yet he couldn't bring himself to manage his time better. He was always getting into something, finding an interesting deal or using any excuse just to lay low if he caught a rumor someone had been asking after him.

When running, he always changed his last name but usually went by his first name, finding it hard to answer to anything else. "You should finally let me take you out." The grin had gotten wider, more devilish as he leaned over and grasped a loose curl before tucking it easily behind her ear. "You know we'd have a great time, Amelia. You'd be with me, I mean like, look at me." With that he stood up straighter, a hand going down and splayed wide open as if to say look at me. His eyes sparkled as he winked, the confidence rolling off of him in waves.

"So did I." The sentence was simple but the context spoke volumes. From the moment he had laid eyes upon Elizabeth, he was in love. Of course, Sebastian had his own battles and wars to fight, outside and inside of himself. But once he had finally let his walls down, stopped pushing Lizzie away, he could finally be happy.

"From our first duel, I was so mesmerized by you and your prowress. The way you took me out so easily." Sebastian reached up, he left hand flattening over his breast as he thumped it against his chest in a heartbeat rhythm. A grin on his face as his eyes cast upward, toward Heaven. "I was in love."

The words came out so easily. Sebastian didn't even think about it, but it was the first time he had used the term love. "I love you, Lizzie."

"As did I." Daemon stood beside the Iron Throne, watching Rhaenyra as she stood near it. "I never had a doubt, not for once. You belong here, Rhaenyra."

Even though Daemon needn't bother, he assumed he has shown his loyalty over and over again at this point, he bowed and took a knee in front of his wife. Unsheathing his sword, he brought it forth. Bloody and marred as he displayed it for all to see in the room.

"I offer you my undying loyalty, Queen Rhaenyra. Queen of the Andals, the Rhoynar and the First Men, Lady of the Seven Kingdoms, and Protector of the Realm, I will shield your back and keep your counsel and give my life for yours if need be. I swear it by the Old Gods and the New."

Daemon had joined his brother's council after being away for over two years. He hadn't told anyone he'd be returning as he intended for it all to be an unwelcome surprise. Daemon chuckled to himself, enjoying the fact that he caused panic and turmoil to those around him that were too weak to understand his value and worth.

Though he had to admit, he did miss his family at times. Entering the throne room through the rear, making little noise and causing no scene as he made his way toward the high born men and women who stood in the room, sucking on the proverbial golden teet.

Standing near a statuesque, blonde woman with a silky dress as her flowery scent caught his attention. Daemon noticed how nervous she had become since he began standing next to her and he grinned devilishly. "Might I say, you smell heavenly."

Maria ran as fast as she could, heart beating heavy against her chest as her feet slammed into soft soil. Usually when she was running to Jake, it was a good thing.. but today? Something had happened. "Jake.." Leah commented noticing Maria run in their direction. She didn't hesitate, wrapping her arms around his neck practically colliding with him. She breathed in his scent of cinnamon and pine, so sure he would be able to feel her heart beat rapidly against her chest.

Her face buried into his chest for a moment, trying to catch her breath. Seth looked down noticing a rip in her trousers, "where is your bike?..did you run here?" Seth queried, Maria glanced to the youngest and then to Jacob. "I was riding..like I usually do, something attacked me not far from the border of Forks and La Push" Maria explained, "knocked me off the bike..I didn't see what it was, so I just ran here.." Quite the distance to run too.

Leah and Seth looked to one another with a concerned expression. Maria clasped her hands upon the sides of Jake's face, her expression softening as her eyes met his. "It could have been a bear, or..something else.." she was a little scuffed, more from the fall than anything more sinister. It was remarkable she hadn't hit her head, yet her shin was bleeding and she certainly felt a little bruised. "I didn't look back.. I just..wanted to be by you Jake.." Vampires hadn't been around the area, apart from The Cullens but they wouldn't harm Maria. She felt safer with Jacob, in his presence. She was sure it had been nothing but Maria didn't trust it enough to walk here.

She lightly pressed her forehead against his own, eyes falling shut briefly "I just want to go inside, get cleaned up.." Maria whispered, did she want him to shape-shift to investigate? No. Maria purely wanted his company. Doe eyes fluttered open again, lips so close to his own that she had to restrain herself from kissing him in front of Leah and Seth. "You smell of cinnamon and pine.."

Jacob had been out with Leah and Seth, his pack. They were in the woods doing a patrol, rumors of something fast in the woods near Slough Trail which happened to be about a mile from La Push, obligating someone to come and check it out. 

Sam and his pack, still strange even after all this time to refer to them as another pack, separate from his own or himself because at one time they had been one. The bond between them and him could be shaky at times, resulting in Jacob, Leah and Seth getting patrol duty. Jacob didn’t mind though, even if Leah complained a lot about how unfair it was but he knew deep down she loved to run in her wolf form, just like they all did. 

They had just finished the patrol, finding nothing aside from a few odd tracks and some strange scents when a loud crash came from behind them. Jacob crouched, tensed to phase when the scent of Maria and Leah’s warned hushed, “Jake,” made him pause. Crashing against his chest, the dampness from their bodies mingled together as he threw his arms around her and picked her up and into his embrace. Jake held her against him, feeling her rapid heartbeat and her spiked adrenaline. “What is it?” Pressing his face against her own, their noses brushing gently against each other. 

Another crash through the woods, but Leah and Jacob both knew it was only Seth but Maria buried her face in his chest. Seth pointed out the fact that her bike was in fact nowhere to be seen. Jacob let her explain, listening intently as he dug his fingers into her hair and his own heart started to pound. “Something knocked you off the bike!?” His adrenaline spiked and coursed through his veins, the ripple and pressure to phase almost unbearable but Jacob had become good at controlling himself. He was in fact the true descendant of the Alpha and held more power than any of them combined. “You ran here, baby? Jeeze, are you okay? Are you hurt? Because…” Jacob’s voice trailed off, it had become low and hoarse. 

“Where was this at?” Leah, the voice of reason while Jacob held it together, chimed in and asked what he should have asked. Pulling Maria tighter against him, she wanted to go in and get cleaned up. Should he go with Maria inside or searching for whatever tried to harm her? “Seth, go and alert Sam about what happened with Maria. Leah, locate her bike and run a wide perimeter around the area until Sam and the others can get there. I’m going to stay with Maria. I’ll join you guys as soon as I can, keep me updated.” Jacob turned back to Maria, fingers running up her neck and into her hair. “I’ll stay with you, baby.”

At the mention of his smell, he chuckled, trying his best to lighten the mood for the both of them. “Thanks, I was rolling in some leaves earlier. The dog in me couldn’t resist. Seth did it too.”

I don’t even know my own heart. / jessica @ bill

Bill sat on his couch, Jessica sat next to him as the blood ran down her face from her crystal blue eyes. The words were a jumbled, crying mess but Bill could understand them plain enough. She had only just been made vampire recently and his new fledglings emotions were off the charts and at times she seemed uncontrollable, but Bill had laid the law down and now she seemed to be more responsive and more trusting of him. Everyone just needs a little bit of boundaries, every now and then.

“Jessica, sometimes there are humans out there that will activate higher emotions in our kind but you have to remain calm. Now, what is it that has gotten you so worked up?” Reaching over, Bill grasped a box of tissues and handed them to Jessica. “Maybe I can be of some sort of help.”

Harry had been outside of the burrow pacing, back and forth he walked. Backpack on his back as he contemplated leaving, keeping everyone safe while he hunted for horcrux’s on his own. He had to admit while lying in bed the idea had sounded grand and amazing even, but out in the fresh air where he could clear his lungs and mind, the plan sounded feeble and terrible. Who was he kidding, he’d never make it without Ron or Hermione. 

He had just considered waking Ron and then Hermione when the door to the Burrow creaked open. Hermione walked out, bag in hand and her warmer clothes on. He only considered the statement for a moment and then he smiled, crossing the distance and grasping her hand. “We can’t leave without Ron, of course.”

“And to think I had complimented you, expressing how you were the brightest witch of your time. But now I'm not so sure because of the things that you are saying right now. It doesn't make any sense.” Sirius took this moment to approach Hermione, the girl's bushy hair made her taller than what she actually was and her front teeth had finally fit nicely inside her mouth. She had grown into a delightful young woman. 

“I know you're scared for Harry, Hermione, but he has all of the Order looking after him and it might not seem a lot right now though it will get the job done, so to speak. You all are safe here at Grimmauld Place, I promise.” Pausing for a moment, he sighed. “When you three return to Hogwarts, I need you on your best behavior. In times like these, it is imperative that Harry learns the things he needs for this…” The pauses keep coming, but this is a child's mind that he is attempting to ease and things like these take time and care and you must think about the things before you speak them. “Upcoming chapter in his life. You must understand.”

Remus looked up from the book he had clutched between his fingers. No, he hadn't really been reading. He was merely using the book as a ploy, a shield of sorts to make it seem as if what the others were saying about him didn't matter. A thin smile graced his lips as he pushed his shaggy hair from his face and set the book aside. “Alas, I'm not sure if many witches or wizards can fix a broken heart, so it's quite alright.” 

At the mention of a drink, Remus suddenly realized how parched he truly was. But he knew he had no knuts or sickles to pay for anything. “Thank you but I'd kindly have to decline, wouldn't want to put you out, uhh, Tonks.” He had almost referred to her as her given name of Nymphadora though he had heard that she detested the name and preferred her last name.

The devastating blow from the elimination of Dorne and the sacking of Highgarden, brought down upon them by Cersei and Tyrion’s trust in a situation he thought he could control or at least a situation that would be easily pliable. 

For a moment Tyrion considered the possible outcomes for the plan that she had devised. “I may have led you astray, Your Grace, but I did not do it maliciously. Yes, I was wrong and there is no coming back from that type of defeat. You must allow me to continue reaching out, to continue sending out letters for more allies. We lost both Dorne and Highgarden, let me reach out to House Mootoon, House Tarly of Horn Hill and House Stokeworth. The last we heard, those houses had not declared themselves for my sister.” Tyrion pursed his thin lips, the wrinkles crinkled around his eyes as he scrunched his face with the movement, accentuating that he was in fact noseless. 

“Do not let your anger get the better of yourself, Your Grace.” Both eyes watched the Queen, one black and one green. The mismatched pair held her purple gaze. “You have entrusted me to be your Hand, Your Grace. Let me council you, that is what I do. I am imperfect and I make mistakes but I have never fooled you, Your Majesty.”

Daemon laughed, his laughter always had a tone of sarcasm to it. "I can say or do whatever I like and you damn well know it." His voice was low, deadly quiet as he leered at her from where he stood. Fresh from Caraxes and weary from riding, Rhaenyra cornering him.

"As for loving you, I am out here solely winning you bannerman to your cause. I have taken Harrenhall for you, Your Grace. I am on your side in this, not your enemy. I do not merely disappear on a whim." Turning himself fully towards her, standing straighter as his armor creacked and cracked.

"I promised you that Iron Throne, did I not?"

Finnick looked around, his sea-green eyes cast about before popping a piece of candy into his mouth. "Sometimes I don't realize I'm doing it. It's called self-preservation and after all these years in the Capitol, I listen when my gut tells me to do something."

After a few moments a popular couple, whom many people talked to, exited the room and Finnick straightened his back a little more and smiled. Chewing the piece of candy as it cracked against his white teeth. "Some people you just shouldn't even bother speaking with."

Maybe she had been hoping for a chuckle, a laugh. Anything. In hopes of bringing Ominis out of this despair. Of course, he wasn't a mind reader and he would have no idea what her meaning actually was. Turning around, his milky white eyes cast downward toward the floor and a sigh on his lips.

"You remind me of Sebastian sometimes.." His voice grew quiet and trailed away as his fingers tightened on his wand.

“Probably more than you have.” Peeta watched her, his blue eyes were drained and almost lifeless at this point. The capital had been torturing him for some time now and he had only just been rescued. 

For weeks, he was in a small white room as doctors poked and prodded him. As psychiatrists and therapists all filtered in to try and help Peeta, to make him realize that everything he had been told before had been lies. It felt impossible at times.”I’m sorry.” His voice was barely a whisper. Was he actually sorry or did he feel the need to say that, because it was proper or right, because that’s what you did when you had manners? 

“I can understand if you don’t want me around anymore.”

Draco whimpered, his hands fluttering to the area in question. His silvery hair catching the light as his head bobbed back and forth, small little shrieks and whines could be heard leaving his lips with each breath he took. “I don’t know where!” 

His voice rose a few octaves as his hands came away from his robes covered in a thin layer of blood. “I’m going to pass out, I think.” This time his voice was slightly calmer, but in his own ears it sounded very far away. A roaring sound flooded his senses, causing him to black out from the shock of it all but before he slipped under, he murmured, “Am I dying?”
