"Here to gloat, I assume. Bask in your victory, huh?" An audible huff comes from the mermaid queen as she crosses her arms over her chest. Being forced to work as a permanent tour guide was less than ideal for her but it beat the other alternative of uh, being fried.

"Go ahead. Get it over with." It's not like she can say anything on the matter.

"I'm not like other mermaids so that doesn't apply to me~! Their hair? Nowhere near as shiny and lovely as mine. Their eyes? Like, nowhere near as sparkly. Mermaids are super cringe because they're not good enough to be me, baby!"

Regarding sending muses an object, a volleyball with straw hair and a red handprint face, last seen adrift in the open sea, for Nerissa.

She just kind of stares at it for a few seconds before picking it up and shaking it a little. Was there anything in it? No. Just looks like a volleyball with straw and paint on it.

"Weird." It's promptly thrown into the nearby trash can. She can safely say that's the weirdest gift she's gotten in a long time.

"Hello, miss Nerissa!" The boy greeted the tall redhead mermaid as he skipped towards her

"Uh huh." She currently has her face glued to a magazine, looking over all the hair products, only to lower it just slightly once she realizes he's not leaving her alone.

"Do you like, need something or...?" It's not like people greet each other just for the sake of greeting.

"Oh, come ooooon. It's completely fine! Who wouldn't want a bottle of mermaid water? It has great health benefits and makes your hair shine and sparkle like never before! Just thirty bucks a pop! That's like, totally affordable." Time to pull out the big guns.

"Pretty please? I need the money for my precious little baby boo kitty vet visit soon. He won't make it otherwise."

"I'm your mother, of course I can do that. Besides we don't have the safety of the mermaid kingdom anymore. It's just you and me." Oh, how she misses her luxurious throne! Her servants! All of it! She'll reclaim it all one day...

"So, be a good little guppy and stay. The last thing I'd want is for you to go out there and get snatched up by a shark. Then I'd be all alone! Is that what you want, dear?"

Nerissa Headcanons!

She's 180 years old. Her innate ability that she's mastered is being able to become human so she can easily switch between the land and the sea.

While she did have a love for humans growing up, over time that soured and now she mostly enjoys human culture rather than the people themselves. She doesn't feel inferior around them and thus isn't crazy for their destruction like with the giant krakens. But that also means if humans get stuck in the crossfire she isn't going to do anything to help them.

She was kicked out by the other merfolk, which had been a long time coming truthfully, and was hoping to use the trident both to get rid of the giant krakens and reinstate herself as the mermaid queen by force. If a way is presented to her, she may consider turning Oceanside into a kingdom but even Nerissa herself finds the idea a little farfetched given the krakens are still kicking around. For now, it's just a silly little dream to think and ponder about.

Nerissa's good at singing, dancing, and most of all acting. These were things she picked up while jumping back and forth between land and sea. The theatre was one of her favorite things to watch when she could and it directly inspired her bombastic tone in the modern day.
