         hello friends ! i only have 28 days of school left until the end of the          year, and some of my grades are really struggling, so I’ve decided          to take a short break from rp until I a) get my grades up and b) finish          my AP, IB, and final exams. i will probably return on the weekends,          but i am logging out all during the week. my hiatus officially starts          next weekend until may 22nd, after which i will be completely free          of (many) obligations and will have a few weeks to write! please          forgive this break; i will try to clear out some drafts (probably queue          some up along with other drabbles or notes) next friday before i          leave officially.                         “I am not Toph!" body is stretched to capacity,                        arms raised above her head, mouth broad in a                        wild grin. Her chest is roaring, her body vibrating                        with elation and adrenaline. Fists are curled in                         the air, and with her feet she can sense the tired                         benders around her. 

            Lips are chapped, dry from lack of             moisture, lack of care. She can feel             the coating of dirt on her pale skin,             feel the sun against her face. If she             could see the light that was being cast            upon her, she thinks it would be glorious. 

  It’s just a game, she knows, but   it feels good to win, feels good   to be on top sometimes. 

                           And she belongs on top. 

                                                        She’s the world’s greatest                                                         earthbender, for Spirit’s sake,                                                        blind and all.

            She laughs because the voices of             her parents ring in her ears, the voices            of her teachers. ( she can feel the soft            paws of the badgermoles, pushing her,             nuzzling her little side, touching her hands             until they were covered in soft earth ) She             can hear Katara too, her real mother. She            can hear Aang too, feel him breathing, then            she doesn’t anymore. He’s in the air             ( it’s so damn annoying when he does that,             when she can’t feel him on the ground             anymore, know where he is ) and it’s her            time to knock some heads. 

                        “I am Melon Lord!" 

    What she could have been if they’d given her a chance. 

            a swipe of the foot,             a movement of the arm,             and the earth glides with             her as she runs. 

    What she could have proven, shown them. 

                  a jump,                   a disconnection,                  a severed tie.                   she laughs. 

    If they could have loved her how she was, like these people do, like her friends do. 

                        feet land sturdy, body low to the ground.                         She lifts up, uncurls, spreads out. there’s groaning:                         she has won.

wow another au? i cant BELIEVE

au where katara is a southern warrior, trash in comparison to the northern tribes, the sister that left their other behind in the world wars only a score of years ago

katara, daughter to the passed chief of the south, becomes the leader of her small tribe after her brother's kidnapping/disappearance

he was allegedly stolen by the nothern raiders, and katara wants vengeance for the past centuries of turmoil, caused by the sister tribe

motherly nature abandoned, she takes her elite warriors and her allies, guru aang from the southern temples for spiritual guidance (the last of his kind after the 'red' nation set his home ablaze and killed his people for reading omens that were not in the king's favor), banished prince zuko from the eastern nation (cast out by his family for his sympathy, for being unable to kill his friend when commanded by his father), and toph, a blind military lord (disowned by her family after cheating them out of most of their fortune)

she arrives in the north, her tribe being kept by zuko's loyal soldiers and toph's gang members, and demolishes the security system immediately, overtaking the palace to find that the north's government was in ruins

the only true heir to the throne, yue, was locked away from the rebels, the same men an women who took sokka from katara

katara must earn the trust of princess/queen yue in order to defeat the rebels, but only in return for her brother and for the signing of a treaty that will ensure the lasting life of her home tribe and ensuring the southern people's wealth and treatment for a long time 

ending 1.sokka and katara are reunited, aang and the remainder of his people are given a home in the north and south, zuko is given a sanctuary in the north, toph pioneering trade between the tribes, katara gets what she wants and returns to the south with her new family, leaving yue to rule in her rightful place

ending 2. ending 1 but the rebels slaughter the moon spirit (the spirit world is aang's second home, almost) and aang and yue recognize that yue must sacrifice herself, leaving katara to rule both the north and the south on her own

ending 3. ending 2 but yue and katara are in love (im yuri trash sorry)

ending 4. ending 1 but yue and katara are in love and become the queens of the northern and southern tribes, sokka returning to become the "chief" in place of katara for the south

ending 5. ending 2 or 3 but katara fails to overcome the rebels before yue makes the sacrifice, dying in the princess's arms, and yue makes the choice to save her people all on her own, sokka becoming her ally and turning the tribes into a sort of sister-republic after both women are gone
