@arthurtheghostmechanic reblogged for a starter!
Footsteps could he heard, echoing throughout the eerie purple cave, as Lewis approached Arthur. After all this time...he’d finally be able to get his revenge on the man who killed him. He quickly--and forcefully--grabbed the blonde by the collar of his shirt, dangling him over the edge of the cliff.
In one swift movement, he could end all of this. He could drop the mechanic to his death and never look back...but something was preventing him from doing so. Why...why couldn’t he let go?
...Enough messing around. This had to be done. Flames flickered away from his head, now revealing his more human face. Bright pink light emanated from his small pupils, a good contrast to the darkness in the rest of his eyes. This was it. All of this would be over if he just...if he just...
He couldn’t do it. He couldn’t bear to drop Arthur off the edge. The blonde had seemed downright terrified this whole time...in a tense moment like this, it seemed to impact Lewis more than it should have...but why? Why couldn’t he just get it over with?
The heart-shaped locket on Lewis’ chest turned a deep, dull shade of blue, cracks forming along its surface. His facial expression was indescribable, multiple negative emotions were combined into one. Frustration, sorrow, confusion...regret.
“...I can’t do this,” Was all he managed to say with a pained tone in his somewhat shaky voice. He didn’t know why, but...he dragged Arthur by the shirt collar onto the rough, rocky ground next to him--away from the edge. Maybe this was his way of saying it was alright to just talk this over? Anything that needed to be said could be said right here and now.
