“Poor pitiful demon. You are part of the bargain.”
Soul sucking banshee who rides upon a seven headed hydra eclipses all senses in the demon of sin. He fails to stop it all. He does little to prevent because it comes so unexpectedly. She rips his soul apart. Shattering it within two, Lust goes limp to the world. In the ensuing chaos of his own destruction he remembers falling. Impossible to feel much after death.
Devoured means demons do not return. They are of no more existence. Even if he could not see her then, eyes gouged from Envy’s torture, Lust does feel a strange sway. It is not a lull to siren’s death. It is a lightness swirling around him.
Perhaps it is not him but the other piece of his soul floating away. The one piece she did not consume. The light piece. The angelic piece.
Greed brought it out. Hell became war torn but he arose as a Phoenix that evening. He felt the angel powers. Oh how fleeting they had been but an awakening from the other side. His original side. He once had been light and full of feathers.
The soft glow surrounds the ball of light. Flying away from the husk of his demon body, a rippling effect warps the air. He can almost hear himself screaming. The rupture of his voice lands on deaf ears. He can longer see his body. The ball of light is sucked through a beam of light. The sun itself caresses him. The clouds themselves part but there is darkness on the horizon.
“Greed?” Disembodied is the voice he speaks in. “Wrath?” Lost is the tone in which he reaches out to his brothers. “Aiden....” Rasping is his call to his lover.
Lust’s eyes open anew. Sight. Glorious sight. No longer gouged anymore. His eyes shine cocoa in the bright golden hue. There is a sparkle of it in the air. How dazzling it is. Where has he seen it before?
“Caleb. Welcome home.”
Who-? He turns his head towards the voice. An angel. An archangel is it? “Gabriel?”
“Yes,” the angel smiles softly.
Though there is something grave in his face. It seems Lust or Caleb has been soulless for a time here. Bound to nothing but the piece that shattered away. Now he his whole and very much swathed in white and soft baby blue. He gazes down at his garb. The robes are flowing. They are reminiscent of a lost memory but here he is. My God. Literally of course. “This is Heaven.” Impossible!
“It is. Part of your soul came back. The one not bound to Him. Lucifer.”
Corvus. Caleb’s lips curl. The grimace provokes his inner anger. The anger provokes his power. He erupts upon two feet, wings sprouting forth in a gleam of heavenly light. Pain sears his back. Nearly toppling him down to his knees, Caleb steadies himself, ignoring the other’s hand to help him. “Gah! It burns!”
“I am sorry, Caleb. You are still not one of us. You are a fallen.”
Fallen? He is a demon not - Fuck! The culmination of demonic energy and angelic origin. His brother began this. Now he too is afflicted with it’s interwoven destiny. “I was murdered. The demoness. She is -”
“The Whore of Babylon devoured only part of you. The demonic part she could readily grasp. The other? Was too strong, hidden beneath the vestiges of your creation.”
Oh wonderful. Godly talk. “I did not miss this but - What is happening?” There are horns blaring in the distance. There is a shadow falling through the sky. It seeps around now breaking through and poisoning the clouds.
“Satan has breached. And I - a Seraphim returns to wreak his vengeance.”
Caleb shook his head. “Aiden....”
“Caleb do not enter the fray.” Grabriel pleads knowing very well. “Michael is there.”
“Damn Michael!” Caleb sneers. “I must get Aiden. Then we -” Father. The Whore spoke of him making a deal. To enter Hell. “I must help my father.”
“Your father? He is...”
“He has never been God,” he interrupts the archangel. “Well, perhaps he considers himself one but. My father is Elijah.” Determined. Truthful. Regretful. He must find his lover before it is too late. If Corvus has come then it is the End Time.
