“What is it you said you did again? I wasn’t--” Simon paused. He had better manners than that; to admit he wasn’t listening would have been rude. Especially given he wasn’t even looking directly at the fellow.
“--I didn’t quite catch that.”

Simon just so happened to stop upon what looked to be a bad idea in progress. He’d seen rowdy kids and criminals alike try to leap the fence she’s sitting on. It wasn’t that they couldn’t-- but a rather vicious dog (Simon thought it was rabid, personally) happened to live in the yard it surrounded. His expression is rather stony, both out of concern and the concentration going into not burning a hole through his glasses. His eye doctor was starting to become suspicious after five pairs gone.
