‘ It’s  getting dark outside, she noticed (and finally for   goodness sake). The girl had been in the public library since   this afternoon, reading away while she barely took note of time   passing by. And since she had no digital device to notify people   at home, she should probably go back soon before they worry. 

 Packing up her things, Fran picked up the book and toured   back to the shelf where it belonged.

Damn  if she had enough money she’d buy a ton   of these. Look at all those pretty looking notebooks.   But fff--  One would suffice her needs for now.
