saturday mornings aren’t supposed to be spent in disappointment, but this is all seokjin is, arms crossed over a wide chest and looking down on his own brother, and for good reason. it’s a good thing hyojin is in the backyard, and though seokjin would rather have his siblings home for a better reason than to scold them, some things cannot be left for later.

“are you even trying?” he asks, mostly out of disbelief, and utter disapproval. seokjin didn’t work his ass off and endure years of being humiliated by his aunt and the legacy of their parents only to have it ruined by silas being absolutely incompetent. perhaps he babied them too much -- recently, he’s been trying to stop. tough love was never meant to be easy.

“what do you do on thursday nights that you can’t turn up to my class on time in the morning?” he continues, enraged, on a roll. “who do you do -- that’s a rhetorical question -- i don’t even care,” he huffs, not once reaching for his coffee on the dining table. “i can’t give you preferential treatment, silas. i expect that comparison on the usefulness of the doubling charm and the vanishing spell on my desk by monday morning. i will not let you slide any lower than you already have.”
