Ceòl ùr bho Mac - Fichead 's a h-Ochd
Listen to rare snippets of haunting Gaelic songs inspired by the Jacobite cause, as we prepare to mark the anniversary of the Battle of Culloden on Thursday 16…
That time Oban Gaelic Choir were teth air ur sàilean, Niteworks!
This was probably the most viewed post on Facebook for BBC Alba for the year. An outstanding rendition of a song by Niteworks, Maraiche, by the Oban Gaelic Choir.

Aon Phòg Ghràidh - 2
Aon phòg gràdhach, 's an uair sin sgaradh. Aon shoraidh-slàn, mo thruaigh, gu maireann. Le caoineadh cridh' bheir mi dhut gealladh, Strì is àmhghair duais mo sheallaidh. Cò chanas gu bheil sealbh ga chiùrradh, Fhad 's tha reul an dochàis siubhal uaith'? Chan eil lasair solais nis ann dhòmhsa Sgàil an dorchadais gam chòmhdach.
Cha chuir mi coir' air faileas m'annsachd, Cha b'urrain cridhe diùltadh Nansaidh, Le aon shealladh ghlac an gaol mi, Gaol na h-aon tè crìoch an t-saoghail. Mura b'e an gràdh bha coibhneil, Mura b'e an gràdh bha dubh-dhall, Mura b'e gun choinnich 's dhealaich Cha bhiodh ar cridhe brist' na threallaich.
Soraidh slàn a' ghràidh as bòidhche. Soraidh slàn a' ghaoil as còire. Gum biodh agad Aoibhneas, Stòras, Sìth is Sonas, Gaol is Sòlas. Aon phòg gràdhach, 's an uair sin sgaradh. Aon shoraidh-slàn, mo thruaigh, gu maireann. Le caoineadh cridh' bheir mi dhut gealladh, Stri is àmhghair duais mo sheallaidh.
