Within the dual numbers, an extension of the real numbers that is very similair to the imaginairy numbers, ε is defined as:
ε^2=0 but ε=/=0
This means that dual numbers, like imaginairy numbers, are 2-dimensional. (though they are kinda a lot less usefull :( )
And now for a fun fact: since anything multiplied by 0 equals 0, raising ε to any power higher than or equal to 0 returns 0.
I also think I heard somewhere that functions on the dual plane are identical to those same functions on the imaginairy just ratated through some 3rd dimension but I couldn't find a source for this so idk
