Brain storming new directions
The year is 2019. Noon and Ain are coming out of their winter hybranation into an air that smells like sun and change. “No more wasteful, environmentally compromising cut up poetry,” says Noon to Ain. “From now on our poetry shall be sustainable and created using yet another old- new technique: Exquisite Corpse!” “What is that?” Asks Ain. “Exquisite Corpse, also known as Exquisite Cadaver, is a method by which a collection of words or images is collectively ass. Each collaborator adds to a composition in sequence, either by following a rule or by being allowed to see only the end of what the previous person contributed”, Quotes Noon a dusty Wikipedia page. “No more Dada, bring in Surrealism!” Noon and Ain are now sitting in a local hotel lobby, attempting their first drawing of Exquisite Cadaver. Colors are nice but words are nicer, they conclude. Words are in fact supreme, especially ours. They pull out their phones and examine their WhatsApp chats and text messages, their never ending source of potential poetry waiting to be harvested and formed. Their revised work method is simple: Noon (with a black pen) and Ain (with a red one) sit in front of each other, each with her cellphone on WhatsApp or Text chat. Scrolling silently up and down their shared history, one of them will pick up a sentence and write it down on a piece of paper. She will then fold the paper, making the sentence invisible except for the last word, which will be the starting point for the next contributor. During this process, Noon and Ain freely reclaim the term Exquisite Cadaver as כוסיות על אקורדיון
“With your glow that will cut through the snow”
