Demeter sat one side of the crook in the counter, her feet wedged on the other side, a bowl of noodles (with a convenient handle) cradled in her hands as she laughed at something Poseidon said. She’d tried to stay away from every Olympian that made her spidey senses tingle, but some connections were harder to ignore. This was one of them. This entirely too invasive bond she’d forged and been unable to stop caring about was something she had never been able to dissolve.
Her dark eyes flicked to him, judging and narrowed, as her fingers spun her fork around to make another bite. “It’s cayenne pepper, you uncultured snob. It’s good for all sorts of things in your body, and I, for one, don’t mind a little spiciness in my food.”
She had also tried out another THC based oil in this dish, and she couldn’t wait until he started feeling the effects of that. He was always more fun to tease when he was squinting at her through laughter. “How’s the ocean and all of that?” She hadn’t swam once in this life, and she wouldn’t, if it was up to her. Demeter was fine listening to him praise it instead. “Wet, as usual, I presume?”
The Show Must Go On / Dorcas and Marlene / Date TBD
[ @cherrybomb-witch ] Dorcas rapped her knuckles on the door to a tune playing somewhere deep in her mind. Her exuberance left her bouncing on her toes as she awaited the answer. She looked down at the envelope in her hand, knowing full and well the contents were a one and a million chance, and there was only one person she knew would appreciate the chance as much as she did. Marlene. For years she’d been running set lists by the blonde to play at the station. Hell, it was even Marlene who convinced Dorcas to stop being scared to play muggle music on the air. The world deserved to hear it, after all. Which was why she owed this opportunity to her friend. Somehow WNN was included in a country wide give away trying to promote more business for the band, which meant two backstage passes for a whole festival. One whole weekend sans war and violence and general Order business was right up Dorcas’ alley, and she knew Marlene would feel the same. Her excitement began to get the best of her. Another set of pointed knocks fell to the door, this time accompanied by, “Hell, it’s me, Marlene! Open up! You aren’t going to believe what I got today.”
at Bayview Hospital w/ @sbh-md
Sam Byrne wasn’t exactly the type to go out of his way for people. Stephanie didn’t really count as people though. His sister could call him at any hour, and he’d be wherever she needed him. Right now, even though she wouldn’t say it, she needed the gigantic Caesar salad, and blue cheese burger he’d picked up from Eureka Burger on his way over. He tried not to make a habit of popping in unannounced, especially when he knew just how crazy shifts at the hospital could be. However, Samuel wasn’t in the mood to argue with his sister over whether or not he should make any sort of fuss over her. He wasn’t. But she also needed to eat. “Before you say anything-” Sam had rounded the corner with his hands in the air before she’d even had the chance to accost him, “-somehow this sack of food found its way to the front seat of my truck. I was minding my own business, honest.” He’d move to put down the plastic bag full of food containers on a nearby surface. “Smells a lot like Eureka Burger. Was pretty hard not to eat it on the way over.” Sam flashed a grin, not sure whether he’d be met with thanks or lashings.
[ CLOSED for @sarabnnctt ]
Sam may have fibbed just a little when he’d said he got off work at 10:30. The truth was, he’d gotten off at 10, but he needed time to swing home and set Champ up for the night. Either way, yes he certainly did remember where the Bennett’s lived, and not just because he and Mikey had spent many of their teenage nights dragging each other home, drunk off their asses. If Sara had been calling his bluff, she’d be surprised when he pulled up to the curb outside of their home in Humboldt Hills. He wasn’t so rude as to lay on the horn at this time of night. Sam knew she had a newborn, even though she hadn’t told him. That was the curse of living in this city. Eureka was more like a small town than anything. No indiscretion went unpunished. Instead, he grabbed his phone and shot off a quick text;
SAM: i’m outside --after which he’d stash his phone back into its holder on the dashboard. He wasn’t nervous, per se. It certainly wasn’t the first time he’d picked up a girl after a quick chat on tinder. Sara wasn’t exactly some girl, however. She was Wyatt’s mistress, and he damn well knows that Sara knows that he KNOWS. Sam isn’t likely to bring it up, but he sure he’s doing a dumb thing. It’s just that, well…
Sam’s dumb. So he’d wait in his truck for Sara, without any clue, really, how the night was going to end.

SILAS RARELY WENT ON DATES. LET ALONE A BLIND DATE. He had eyed the building multiple times while waiting inside his vehicle. He really got inside his own head, thinking that he should crank the engine back up and leave. However, it was just for a corn dog, so he got out and proceeded to walk inside anyway. When he arrived, he saw the mystery man about to leave and, with a sly smirk, approached the table with a hand clasped onto the back of the chair across from him. "Well, this is an interesting turn of events." That smirk turned into a small smile. Silas unbuttoned his blazer before sitting down and leaned back in his chair. "So, have you ordered yet?" Internally, he rolled his eyes because he wasn't good with small talk or anything remotely close to whatever was happening right now.

She placed a single flower here, a bundle there, divvying out colorful and petaled tokens as if her meager offering was enough to wipe away the past’s indiscretions. Demeter’s head was downcast, reading the names, her eyes closing briefly for each one, trying to conjure up a face or a fleeting memory. So many names here were important enough to remember. The history she held within this sacred ground alone was enough to make her woozy without the help of THC.
The deeper into the lined graves she wandered, the more intense the emotions got, and Demeter stopped in her tracks as she suddenly realized the source of it all. She didn’t notice the figure at first, or rather she’d discounted it because she figured others wanted to pay respects as well. Her footsteps were soft as she closed the distance between herself and the grave the other stood at.
When she got close enough to read the name, she reached out and dropped a few flowers atop the the green grass surrounding the tombstone. With a derisive sigh, she shook her head, hands coming to clasp at her front as one hip cocked out. “Could you be any more predictable? Hanging out in a cemetery? Really?”
