he won't invade dipper's mind – not yet, as he certainly doesn't need the trouble that would accompany making pine tree even more paranoid than he already is. yet everyone else in evermore remains an open target – and the most interesting of the masses are the former residents of gravity falls. specifically, the northwest girl who, despite his proclaimed detestation of her years ago, dipper seems to like. cutting him off from his twin will certainly be more difficult– so he'll start with this easier target.
pacifica's dream shifts, and she finds herself in the manor she's been cut off from by the nature of this world: her first home, her gilded prison. a storm rages outside, and a handleless oak door seals her inside, as are all windows far too high to reach. she stands upon an ornate silvery carpet – her parents' favorite! – yet despite the vastness of the manor beckoning for dozens to mingle around the grand ballroom in equally grand apparel, there's no one. complete quiet, the kind to make your ears ring just to offer the comfort of some noise, overtakes the hall, with even the rain and thunder silencing.
it's that same tone and cadence as the one pacifica knows, that haunted her throughout her childhood whenever she dared step a single toe out of line.
another bell joins it, still out of sight, then another, and another – the sounds overlap, eventually reaching a crescendo of disorderly clanging... and abruptly, they stop.
a single bell clatters onto the ground in front of pacifica, creating a splatter of mud upon the carpet where it fell. from the floor, it begins to ring, as if desperately trying to move itself from the mess it made.
"Pacifica." a stern voice, a familiar voice resounds from... well, it's hard to tell which direction. perhaps all at once. the bell rings even more rapidly from the ground. "Pacifica!" it's her father, of course. he's unseen, yet his presence is still felt in the very wood which constructs the manor walls.
for now, the demon's own existence is disguised, apparent only in a tapestry that has always hung in the northwest manor: a crimson eye looking down upon a world set ablaze, which only shifts to follow pacifica should she move.
