Feathersage isn’t Rivi’s birth name. People started calling her it because of her affection for, knowledge about, and tendancy to infodump about chocobos. It’s a direct reference to the Chocobo Sage from Final Fantasy VII, who will very slowly remember how to breed a gold chocobo.
Rivi’s personal chocobo is named Xiaoyu, after the gold chocobo in the Final Fantasy VII save my brother and I got from our friend. He has millioncorn yellow feathers to mimic the gold.
