It feels bad, it must look terrible.

Namjoon had received many beatings in his life, never without giving a good fight though- and the other always ended up looking worse than he did- well in most cases anyways. This wasn’t one of those times. It had been an unfair fight to be honest, three guys had all ganged up against him and started beating him, and even though he fought back hard, getting some good punches and leaving some nasty bruises and cuts he knew would leave those stupid fuckers sore for a good time. But that was nothing compared to the state he was in.

His right eye felt swollen shut and he knew that it had to have a very nasty dark bruise all around it, not only that but his ribs felt completely busted- he wasn’t really sure if ribs could be bruised but it felt like his had to have a nice layer of bruises coating them everywhere. He was sure he had hit the back of his head against a wall when one of them had pushed him, and even though he was proud of the punch he had thrown at that guy and how it had landed quite perfectly on his jaw after that, he couldn’t deny that he had gotten him good because he was sure he would collapse in any moment.

He kept trying to shake his head to recover his consciousness whenever he felt things getting blurry and he barely managed to leave the club, holding onto anything that was close to him and that could offer any kind of support so his face wouldn’t end up on the floor with more bruises. He had enough of those on his body to be honest, and even a cut on his arm from a bottle that had been thrown to where he was and the glasses ended up on his arm. He could feel the bruises on his upper body, and the ones starting to form just made everything worse. “Fuck” He groaned as he leaned against a wall and closed his eyes, ready to pass out when he heard someone call his name. He opened his eyes and frowned as he tried to see who it was, and when he did, he laughed. “Its not as bad as it looks” He said when his friend was finally close. Liar.

It’s been twenty minutes.

He’s been staring at his phone for twenty minutes.

He knows he looks like an idiot, sitting there at his couch with his phone in the hand that isn’t broken, the other one has a thick cast around it that he can’t do anything about until the doctor takes it off him. Its uncomfortable yeah, but its his own fault for punching the wall with all the strength he could hit it with while drunk. But the hand that isn’t broken, its grabbing the phone as tight as it can, and his eyes read the name over and over again.

Tae.

He wants to text him, he needs to text him- needs to know whats going on in his mind. He was the first person he thought about when the blast was posted, he was worried about what he would think... he didn’t want him to get hurt, just the thought of him getting hurt, made Namjoon feel pain. But all this confused him, they were just friends with benefits, but he felt like there was something else. At first he thought that every thing he was doing was only because they had just started, but he couldn’t keep lying to himself. He was doing it because he liked cuddling with Taeyong, he liked when he called him babe, and he liked kissing him, he liked holding him, he liked calling him baby. What did all that mean?

His thumb hovers over the keyboard, and he starts typing something, but quickly he erases it again. He doesn’t know what to say, every thing he types down doesn’t seem good. He keeps overthinking every letter that shows up, groaning and erasing the whole sentence when he’s done with it. He lets go of his phone for a moment and takes a deep breath, rubbing his eyes with his hand before he shakes his head and grabs his phone again. He needs to see Taeyong, he needs to talk to him... gosh, he wants to hold him.

He wants to call him babe but he hesitates.

When he sees that the messages were delivered, he doesn’t let go of his phone. He’s still grabbing it tightly and looking at it, waiting to see his reply.

Cha Sumin, he had head her name maybe once or twice in high school, but never paid much attention to it, or anyone else really if there was no benefit for him if he did that. But lately he had been hearing her name more, and from different people like Taeyong and Hobi, especially the latter one who had told him several things about her which made him a bit curious.

Hobi and him were friends, he would like to say that Hobi was probably the closest friend he had because Namjoon didn’t let people get close, but somehow Hobi had managed to get permission to walk through some of Joonie’s walls- even though he would never let him cross the stronger, taller, ones... the one with dark secrets meant for no one to know- and so he trusted the guy, had fun hanging out with him, and didn’t mind it when the other called him up to talk about things bothering him, about stuff that was happening- boys, messing up, and now Sumin. He told her a few things about her that he didn’t know, and with the information he made an image of her in his mind.

Then there was that blast. He had no clue the girl was a stripper but even less that she seemed to be into girls as well, made him wonder if his friend actually had a chance. So he texted her, asked if she wanted to go for a few drinks with him to the nightclub, he had no clue how he managed to convince her but there they were with their bottles in their hands, after a few rounds of shots and the alcohol just buzzing through their minds.

Namjoon had forgotten what she said but he was still laughing about it with her, setting his bottle on the counter since he had already finished it and then suddenly turning to look at her with playful intrigue. He leaned closer to her and raised an eyebrow, a smirk on his lips. “So you and Hobi, whats happening there?” He asked her, expecting it would take less attempts to get her to tell him the truth since she definitely had some drinks on her.

Namjoon approached him softly, his hand reaching out to set itself behind the other one’s neck. WIth a calm expression, he pulled the other one close and smirked, his eyes moved down to the other’s lips so he could look at them without any shame. He couldn’t deny that the other man attracted him, how could he not? He had captivating facial features and- such a good body, he couldn’t deny that he had really changed, and for the better.

That time they met in the bar at the beach house, and Namjoon had recognized him from that one night stand they had had, he remembered his name and his brain connected it with the other only person he knew from high school that had that name, when he finally figured out that it was him, he couldn’t hide his surprise.

When Seunghyun said those words, Namjoon simply chuckled and leaned forward, just enough so his lips brushed against his lightly. “I’m waiting for you to say what you want, I can’t just read your mind and figure out what you want” He said and then suddenly let go of him, pulling away and taking a few steps back. When he stopped, he looked up at him and crossed his arms, raising his eyebrows and holding back his desire to smirk, if he did then Tabi would probably realize that he was trying to tease him.

Namjoon shook his head at the other, a chuckle slipping from his lips as he bent forward to hold his stomach. This was probably the first time someone had made him laugh so hard, he couldn’t help though- people’s failures did make him laugh. When Namjoon is home alone, sometimes he sits down and watches those vine compilations of people just failing, they have him laughing for hours. Its probably why Namjoon laughed so hard at Seungri, because what he had done had been a failure.

When he was finally able to stand straight, he helped clean the blood from Seungri’s nose- something you wouldn’t see him do normally. He really was kind of an asshole sometimes, but he was showing his kind side by helping him clean this mess he had created himself, and even though there was still a smirk on his lips, a mocking one, he was being very careful as he wiped the blood off his nose and his upper lip.

“Well but you can’t just lie about having abilities you don’t just to impress someone” He said and raised his eyebrows. When he was done cleaning the blood, he handed him the tissue in case he felt there was more blood coming and then sat down by him to check on his arm which had ended up scratched too in his skating attempt, the one that had ended up with him crashing against a shelf and objects crashing down on him and breaking.

Gently he grabbed his arm and pressed down on a spot that looked a bit swollen. “Does it hurt?” He asked him, trying to check and see if he had done something to his arm.

we meet again

Namjoon knew he would meet up with lots of people he used to know in the party, after all all the people in this beach house and going to the party were those who studied with him in Cheongnam High- and even if they didn’t know much about him, he definitely knew them, some of them he knew too well. And then there was one, he definitely knew him well- without even knowing who he was the last time he saw him. He probably had one of the most drastic changes from the alumni of Cheongnam High, so drastic that not even Namjoon could recognize him that one night after making out in the bar when he took him back to his place. Practically everything about him had changed, it was like he had shed his old skin and grew a completely new one. After that one night stand, he never really saw him again- something Namjoon didn’t mind, he wasn’t one to commit, and if he ever did think about him again, he never would’ve thought they would meet again, even less in this beach party.

With the first few buttons of his white linen shirt undone, Namjoon walked to the bar and sat down on the stool. He looked around and saw his high school colleagues, some of them were drinking just like he was about to, others were playing in the sand, enjoying the rays that shone down on this seemingly innocent party with ‘innocent’ people. He rolled his eyes and turned around to ask the bartender for a drink and once he got the nod from him, he turned around again and this time focused his attention on an internal dilemma he had been trying to solve since they got the invitation to go to Jeju Island. He knew she had some evil intentions behind this, get them with the people they had tension with and make even more drama, maybe reveal information- none of them sounded good. But this was a vacation after all, and Namjoon would make the best of it.

When he heard a drink being set down right by him and then heard the name of the drink which he knew was his, he turned around and reached out for it, only to have another hand reach out for it at the same time. He frowned and looked at the person who had reached out for his drink- and when he saw who it was, his eyes widened. “I know you.” Was all he said, trying to figure out where and when he had seen him.
