              It’s hard to say how exactly they wound up on the topic of TJ’s family. For anyone who knows the Hammond-Barrish family know without a doubt TJ Hammond is the odd one out for a multitude of reasons. Never really being interested in anything concerning politics. Unless you count one Republican Congressman who successfully broke the former first son. Then there’s the drugs. Coming out as being gay in the White House while his dad was still in office. Then there’s the very little support he receives from his family, especially when it came time to the grand opening of the Dome. A nightclub he was ecstatic about. If only his family shared the same optimism.

              ❝It’s hard for me to go home.❞ The words are leaving his lips without any hope of stopping them. It’s not so much that the words are false, but that he doesn’t normally prefer to discuss his family when he’s chatting up someone he’s been eyeballing for the vast majority of the night. ❝You sure you wouldn’t rather talk about something else?❞ Not even attempting to gradually change the topic of conversation. TJ cannot imagine this is something Steve is interested in discussing for the majority of the night and he’d rather not cut their talk short because of it.

      it’s difficult to stumble upon someone on the sea who has a presence that leaves you at ease and without worries. with strangers, zoro hasn’t gotten a hint of that during initial impressions. after all, one can’t venture out to sea and expect safety or comfort. those are things they can only earn and he’s earned his fair share of it back on the thousand sunny, surrounded by those who normally give him the upmost availability to relax and rest. however, the sea contains wonders too and sometimes, those sort of individuals do appear. such as the strange rush of calm when introduced to luffy’s former brother; less like a hazardous forest fire, more like the embers of a small lit candle. 

        and an even stranger thing when coming upon a woman who followed a very particular, yet similar, feeling to the brother. her appearance was casual upon him, a quick skip of the introductions and more conversation based on observations of their passing, of the village itself. a devil fruit ? could be, but zoro’s been one to follow instincts and his instincts led to his back hitting the bench and sticking to the beat of the slow conversing. 

             ‘ so, do you live here ? just curious since i haven’t                    seen those flowers you got there --  ’
