Because if I go with the OG timeline (eff the remake as I haven't played that one) dude was born in 1982 (year Project J and G saw their fruits of their labors being born into this cruel and beautiful world) so by the events of Nibelheim Sephiroth, which happened in 0002 (let us say 2002), was 20...Wutai war started in 1985 when he was at the ripe age of 2.
So for this boi to be a freaking legend, the PR machine of the Hero of the war, the silver haired General, enough to inspire Angeal and Genesis to join SOLDIER to follow their own dreams of being heroes (as they joined inspired by him) my man here had to be freaking what 12-13 when he was sent into a darn battlefield and to kill!
I think that mobile game they will launch will confirm this, and geeeez I know we all know this already, if we sat down to cram the numbers, yet here I am feeling bad for this damn broken and crazy sexy bastar, not what I was expecting when I was here minding my own business and watching scary videos.
