Cuz it Ain't Christmas Without the Family.
Charlie wasn't quite sure what was going on. She had been sitting in front of the TV, enjoying some stupid special with Emma. Now, she was wrapped in darkness. She tried looking around, but still, all she saw was black. Then, the shouting started. The voice was familiar. It was fighting something. Then, there was a flash, and nothing again. Suddenly, she felt an intense pain. And it wouldn't stop. She tried to scream, but she couldn't find the air. Just when she thought she couldn't take anymore, it stopped. She opened her eyes and saw a cross in an empty field. She knew this place. She'd seen something like it before. "No... not again. Please-"
Charlie snapped up from the couch, gasping. She looked around. She was safely in her living room, Emma asleep on the other side of the couch. She looked at her watch. 7. Still early enough to call a babysitter. She had somewhere to be.

An hour later, Charlie was well on her way out into the wilderness. Emma was safe with her friend Neal, and Dean would probably be home soon, anyway. She had to get there. She had to see it for herself.
It explained everything. Being sent to voicemail, not hearing anything, not seeing anything, waiting... she didn't want to believe it. It couldn't be true. She turned onto a dirt road and continued driving. after a few minutes, she pulled into a clearing. She shut the car off and climbed out, seeing what she dreaded.
A cross in the middle of the clearing.
She grabbed a flashlight and walked towards it. She turned the light on and pointed it at the wooden thing. Taking a deep breath, she stepped even closer, examining something carved into the wood. "D.W."
Charlie gasped and let herself fall to her knees. "Oh, God... no... Dean..." She bit her lip, forcing back tears. "So... this is where you've been, huh?... you stupid... sorry... son of a bitch..." She swiped at her eyes. "How... how did I not know... I'm supposed to know, I'm supposed to warn you... I'm some prophet..."
Charlie rubbed at her arms and stood. "I'm sorry, Dean. And... I'll miss you. Miss our random dance competitions, and calling you to nag you... especially about Christmas... Wanted you to come by tomorrow. Meet Emma, the orphan I took in.... Because... You're one of my closest friends. You're amazing, and important, even if you didn't think so. I'll always think you were." She smiled a little. "Bye, Deano. I'll miss you." She let out a heavy sigh and turned, heading back to her car.
