I feel like people who didn't like Iron Lung because 'it all felt so hopeless' are not getting the right thing out of it.
The whole point is that even if you fail it matters that you TRIED. Humanity's desire to keep fighting through impossible, hopeless situations, not just for your own life but for the lives of others, is BEAUTIFUL.
I feel like I'm failing all the time. But this movie is a reminder to me that even if I do fail it still mattered that I gave it my all. And that actually gives me hope.
