“You think I don’t know that?” Virgil clutched the front of his shirt, breathing shallow. “I- I don’t know how I’m going to escape! I’m not one of the others, I can’t think my way out of this, I can’t- come up with some grand creative plan, I can’t even manage to keep them from noticing how weak I am!”
He pressed against the glass wall again, searching for a mechanism or gap in the defenses, however unlikely. He couldn’t just sit around doing nothing while Thomas was out there defenseless; it would drive him frantic with worry.
