pansy : does your muse often reflect on their own actions ? do they ever think a lot about the past , and what they could have done differently ?
LINK AT HIS CORE, while he is often reflective of his circumstances, he has always been forward minded. A life's philosophy of : "Keep your eyes on your goal, but never to the point of hesitation." EXPERIENCE IS YOUR BEST TEACHER. It is a fact that is hard-won and time-proven. IF IT'S NOT BROKEN, DON'T FIX IT.
WHICH IS EASY TO SAY when you're seventeen, and expected to be seventeen. But Link hasn't always had that luxury to act his age. Contrarily, he has always been expected to act much OLDER. He is the Chosen Hero. The Champion of Hyrule. The Princess' Personal Guard. THE FATE OF HYRULE RESTS ON HIS SHOULDERS. It is his ability to act, and his ability to endure that spells his home's VICTORY ... or its DEATH. And so, there isn't the time to entertain fantastical whims, or flights of fancy; to try things and see what happens, roam where the wind blows.
His STRONG SENSE OF DUTY and a PRESSURE TO PERFORM has left Link as a highly introspective individual. Mostly in part due to the fact that , for a long while , he rarely spoke at all. When you're spending most of your waking moments firmly inside your own head, it's inevitable that you'd think a great deal about your current situation, your goals, your past achievements and past mistakes. AND SO, LINK JUDGES HIS PERSONAL PERFORMANCE HARSHLY. Past negligence must be rectified. Past inaction must be met with action. If it's not broken, don't fix it, BUT PUT YOUR BACK INTO IT.
