I understand what you say, I just have the feeling that people sometimes get so many weird looks, when they say they identify with not all but most of their past lifes. The only fundamental difference for me is that there are past lifes where I am "Yeah, that is me" and some are "Yeah, that was me". It's just that I feel like people get afraid to admit being someone just so they don't have "too many" kintypes
At the end of the day, it isn’t the community’s call, it’s yours. Some people will raise an eyebrow at two, some at five, some at ten, etcetera. If you’ve got something like 40, I’m going to raise an eyebrow, because that is super unlikely to occur statistically. I forgive those in systems a little more, because I know that system identity can be really, really odd-looking at times; same with those who’re questioning.
You aren’t going to satisfy everyone, no matter what you do. I’ve gotten flack for every single one of my fictotypes. The only way to satisfy everyone is if you’re a perfectly normal wolf who is 17 and has 30 years experience in the community. So, considering that you’re not that, you’re probably fine, tbh. More introspection, less worrying about the community, yeah?
