Pausing minutely at the sound of the door opening, Regulus turned only slightly to give himself a better angle to see the intruder. Only someone with a curiosity in the Dark Arts would have been able to open the door. He continued to pass the cloud of dark energy around the room, reveling in the silky feel of the magic. Perfect control was important. If you couldn’t control a spell alone, in training, there was no way you could trust yourself to use in battle or a duel. A hard-earned lesson from his father, every lesson with him was hard-earned. The slip in his thoughts had the spell wavering for a fraction of a moment before he re-focused.
