One of Di’s longest scenes where she seems to be a character rather than a mirror, is in Dan’s Time Storm memory-mashup with this:

DAN: All right, so, how was your thing that wasn't a date? DI: I fell asleep in front of him. DAN: I thought you were going for pizza. DI: I fell asleep, in me pizza, in front of him. DAN: No! DI: He was so boring. I woke up with him picking bits of mozzarella off me cheek and asking the waiter to call an ambulance. I had to lie and tell him I was narcoleptic. I mean, I obviously am, in reaction to him. Am I boring you? (Flux 3: Once, Upon Time)

Which is objectively bizarre. Like ha ha I fell asleep in front of the boring guy, no no seriously, no seriously. He called an ambulance and everything.

(also very ADHD full boredom aversion, twice in one dialogue - very Doctor, she really is her mirror to the core.)

I don’t think that’s just social awkwardness and not knowing where to stop the joke, it seems like that genuinely happened. And I’ve been wondering what Chibs meant by it ever since.

But I wonder if he might have already told us.

Because literally the scene before this is the Division Gang stabbing the Doctor, who’s just gone all woozy from temporal hazing.
