Whumptober #4
Trope of the day: “Don’t be scared, I’ve done this before”
_
“Are you insane!?”, Caretaker asks, their brows raised in confusion and rage. They knew that the other has a death wish, but this? This exceeds their own expectations. “Don’t bother answering, I mean of course you are!”, they snap and turn around to take a deep breath.
Whumpee is still leaning against the wall, their arms crossed before their chest. “Listen, if we don’t do something, we will be dead within the hour. You have better ideas? Any other secret options I might not know about?”
They look each other in the eyes, nothing said between them. Because Caretaker cannot come up with a better plan.
Still, that doesn’t make Whumpee’s plan any better or less dangerous.
There is a smirk on Whumpee’s face. A smirk even Caretaker wants to slap away because they know what that means. “Listen, we need-“
“Hey, we have been through this three times by now. Don’t be scared, I’ve done this before, okay? And I am still alive,” Whumpee interrupts them and shrugs their shoulders before they finally move away from the wall.
“But I still think that … wait, what!?”, Caretaker asks as the realisation hits them, but Whumpee has used their confusion to run ahead and do as they planned.
If they really should survive, Caretaker is going to murder them themselves for scaring them like this.
You know what? It's time I confess something. Because spouting this out on the internet may help someone who has been having the same problem as me.
I haven't been posting my art like I said I would. I promised myself two years ago that I would start posting my art, open commissions, do something with my talent besides let it sit in my closet collecting dust.
But I haven't posted it.
I was scared. Scared that people would hate me, judge me, and overall scared of the fact that I would be perceived by other people who want more of my art and beg me for more or for commissions when I can't give it to them. Artblock, depression, ect.
But you know what? There's other things to be scared of right now. Bigger things. I live in the US, so there's that shitshow looming over my head, and I'm getting all scared over sharing who I am with whoever might stumble across my page.
Don't be scared of posting. Of being perceived. Because you want to share that art. I know you do. Other people want to see it. I know I do.
There might be hate. There might be pressure for more. But there's guaranteed to be someone, somewhere that likes it.
So here. Have my art. I have plenty more just waiting to be shared, and the quality is going to get worse because I'm going from most to least recent, lol
Enjoy.
