When David shifted and Angel was initially scared and he goes “ come on baby it’s just me you’re safe I promise” ☹️☹️☹️
thinking about a shifted asher doing dog tricks for baaabe so they can give him a bite of their food
thinking about a shifted darlin biting sam's pant leg and dragging him around the house for calling them "puppy"
thinking about a shifted david acting as a weighted blanked for angel at their every request
thinking about a shifted milo laid out in front of a fireplace while getting groomed and pampered by sweetheart
sigh,,,,,,,,,,,
thinking abt the shifters,,,,,,
angel among angels
David who’s always expected to know what to say and Angel who’s always being told they talk too much
Asher who’s never taken seriously and babe whose jokes get spoken over
Milo who grew up needing protecting from a cop and Sweetheart who grew up dreaming of protecting people as one
Sam who was never taken to a playground and Darlin who grew up in them
Drunk Davey because @yunaflxs and @chimckenns have me thinking about it 😋
—————————————————
David is usually the responsible one.
He nurses one drink all night.
Makes sure everyone gets home.
Keeps an eye on the group without anyone even noticing he’s doing it.
So when you walk back from the bathroom and find Milo staring across the room with the widest grin you’ve ever seen, you immediately know something’s wrong.
“What?”
Milo just points.
“…Go collect your husband.”
Your stomach drops.
You follow his finger.
David is sitting at the table, cheeks faintly pink, listening very intently while Asher explains something with his hands.
Except Asher has stopped talking. About thirty seconds ago.
David is still nodding.
“…He’s hammered,” Tank whispers, trying not to laugh.
“No.”
“Go talk to him.”
You walk over carefully.
“Davey?”
His head turns immediately.
The second he sees you, his entire face lights up.
“Oh!”
Like he’d forgotten you were here.
He smiles so broadly it almost doesn’t look like him.
“Angel!”
Your heart melts.
“…Hi.”
He reaches for your hand immediately.
“I was just thinking about you.”
“You’ve been sitting next to me all night.”
“I know.”
He squeezes your hand.
“I missed you.”
You blink.
Asher quietly loses it behind his beer.
Ten minutes later you’ve decided it’s definitely time to go home.
Convincing David, however, is another story.
“But everyone’s still here.”
“They’ll still be here next week.”
He considers this. “…That’s true.”
You help him stand. He sways slightly.
Then immediately puts both hands on your shoulders.
“You are… really little.”
You snort.
“I’m the same height I’ve always been.”
“Hm.”
He looks genuinely fascinated.
“I forget.”
“You see me every day.”
“I know.”
Another pause.
“…You’re still little.”
The walk to the car takes forever.
Not because David can’t walk but Because he keeps stopping to look at things.
A dog.
A street sign.
The moon.
At one point he stops completely.
“What?”
“The moon’s following us.”
You look up. “It usually does that Davey”
“…That’s lovely.”
The drive home is surprisingly quiet.
David sits in the passenger seat holding your hand the entire way.
Not tightly. Just Constantly.
Every few minutes he looks over at you. Smiles. Looks back out the window. Then repeats the process.
Then he finally breaks the silence with a small voice..”Angel?”
“Mhm?”
“You work very hard.”
You glance over briefly.
“So do you.”
“No.”
He shakes his head.
“I mean… you.”
His words are slower than usual.
“You always look after people.”
You smile softly.
“I like looking after people.”
“I know.”
He squeezes your hand.
“But who looks after you?”
Your chest tightens.
“You do.”
He looks at you for a long moment.
“…Good.”
When you get home, getting him inside is surprisingly easy.
Getting him to let go of you isnt as easy.
The second you’re through the front door, he wraps both arms around your waist and just stands there holding you.
“Davey,” you laugh softly.
“Mhm.”
“We should probably move.”
“I am.”
“You haven’t moved.”
“I’m swaying us.”
You bury your face in his shoulder to hide your smile.
Eventually you guide him to the couch and he sat while you stand over him.
As you start moving he looks up at you…“Where are you going?”
“The kitchen.”
“Why?”
“To get you water.”
“…Oh.” He thinks about it.
“…Can you come back?”
Your expression softens.
“I’ll be thirty seconds.”
“Okay.”
The second you return, he’s exactly where you left him except he’s watching the doorway. Waiting.
His face brightens the moment you come back into view. “There you are.”
“I told you I’d be back.”
“I know.”
He says it like he never doubted you. He reaches for you the second you’re close enough. You hand him the water and he drinks obediently then sets it down.
Then reaches for you again.
“Come here.”
You laugh.
“I’m literally right here.”
“Closer.”
You sit beside him.
Apparently that’s still not close enough.
Within seconds he’s gently tugging until you’re tucked against his side, your legs over his lap.
“There.” He sighs contentedly. “Perfect.”
“You are ridiculously clingy.”
“I know.”
“No shame?”
“No.”
You play with his hair while he rests his head against yours.
He’s unusually quiet which is surprising considering how he usually only says whats worth saying.
Then, out of nowhere… “I’m really lucky.”
You blink at him almost confused “What brought that on?”
“You.”
“Me?”
He nods.
“You choose me everyday”
Your heart aches.
“So do you.”
“I know.”
A tiny smile.
“But you could choose anybody.”
You cup his cheek.
“So could you.”
He shakes his head immediately.
“I wouldn’t.”
The answer comes so quickly it almost startles you.
“I already found you.”
He looks at you with those heavy-lidded, honest eyes that alcohol has stripped every wall away from.
“I don’t tell you enough.”
“You tell me all the time.”
“Not enough.”
He reaches up clumsily, brushing a strand of hair behind your ear.
“I think you’re…” He pauses searching. “…amazing.”
Your eyes immediately drift down trying not to laugh at his cute bluntness.
“Davey”
“No, listen.”
He gently takes both your hands in his.
“I like… everywhere you are.”
You laugh through sudden tears threatening to form.
“That’s not a sentence.”
“I know.” He smiles sleepily.
“But you know what I mean.” He leans forward until his forehead rests against yours.
“I don’t think I could ever get tired of you and I hope… when I’m old…”
You grin immediately….”You already complain when your knees crack.”
“I do not.”
“You do.”
He ignores you completely.
“…I hope you still let me hold your hand.”
You don’t answer with words simply intertwining your fingers with his. He looks down at your joined hands.
“Seriously, where did that sweetness come from?”
He looks at you dead in the eyes, with all the seriousness he can muster up in his drunk haze.
“My heart.”
Immediately you burst out laughing at his answer and lean forward to rest your forehead on his shoulder.
“You’re silly, Davey.”
Angel and David head cannons
- Angel loves referring to all the shifters as “Dawg”. They didn’t have this habit until they joined the pack.
- David loves to bite Angel in the exact same spot every single time. He tries to sprinkle a few more bites in other areas, but if he only gets one, it always goes on the side of their neck.
- Over the years, Angel got increasingly worse about stealing David’s clothes. Their at home lounge wear is usually something of his.
- The shifters love to play fight as a way of training for jobs and blowing off steam. Angel, Babe, and Sweetheart are not allowed to participate because their partners get too anxious about their safety. (Sam gets to participate, which all of them are salty about)
- Angel has curls that only come through when they do a very thorough curl routine. Most of the time their hair is just wavy.
- David loves to just breathe Angel in. Loves to stand behind them and hold them and feel surrounded by their scent.
- When the mating bond snapped into place, Angel was unusually cagey about anyone touching them and only wanted David in their space.
- Similarly, David was unwilling to be apart from Angel for long periods of time. He needed to be around them daily.
- Angel had a terrible sleep schedule before they met David. Now they go to bed by 8:00 or 9:00 on weekdays.
- It eats David alive, the things he said to Angel when he first met them. It sometimes keeps him awake at night, just thinking about how mean he was. His only comfort is feeling them curl closer on his chest while they sleep, reminding him that they forgive him.
- Angel was not in the mood to talk to Lasko during the inversion. They wanted nothing to do with anyone who wasn’t David and until Milo gave them David’s jacket, they were raining hell on anyone who got in their way.
THE SHAW PACK (redraw)
FINALLY THEY’RE BACCKK ‼️ I’ve been saying I was gonna redraw a lot of characters for forever now and wouldn’t you know it I remain a man of my word. A very slow one at that, but regardless..
I did switch it up this time and decided to start off with the wolf boys +their listeners<3 (DAMN Crew soon?)
“Sweetheart” belongs to @sincerelywhistler
“Angel” belongs to @angelicaether
Angel is very much a flirt but they get flustered as much as David dose. I totally headcannon that when David says something sickly sweet or downright erotic to Angel they giggle and snort. They get so embarrassed right after too that they feel like they are going to melt right through the ground. David however thinks it’s the cutest thing ever.
HES A FLIRT YOUR HONOR
