Beatrice and Bertrand die and Kit is suddenly alone in a way she wasn’t before. She’s suddenly the only one of the opera night trio alive. Not that she and B and B had much communication after they distanced themselves from VFD but K at least knew they were alive and carried some of the burden. Between the three of them, that burden was manageable. She knew that if she really wanted to she could contact them and talk to them about it and they’d understand. Now they’re gone and she has no one around who could possibly understand and God that’s such a lonely feeling. The entire burden of that night now rests on her shoulders alone
