Howler AU: Saiga, don't you sometimes want Skadi to be inside of you for once?
“--You wanna be more specific about that? I’m not exactly the best at picking up on innuendos. Can’t tell if this is sexual or you’re askin’ if I want to take a chomp out of Skadi.”
Howler: Oh em gee! Does that mean you want to start a pack with her? ;) Would you be happy if she gets pregnant from one of the many 'stress-relief' sessions
The very idea of having pups of his own near brings a heartfelt smile to the stoic werewolf’s face. In all technicality, Cass could be considered something of his pup. Hell, the two of them together could be deemed a ‘pack’ in the eyes of other wolves who still abided by the old ways. The way he and the newly bitten wolfling bickered back and forth on a daily basis (mostly due in part to his poor behaviour) might leave one to wonder if they were in fact parent and child; at best brother and sister.
But families weren’t without their differences.
“Of course I want pups. I want ‘em just as much as the next wolf does. But I want her to want it, too. I already put Skadi through enough... so maybe she doesn’t want a little one who’s got half of my lewdness runnin’ around. She’d make a damn good alpha female, though.”
Hey Jin! How do you feel about being used as a jungle gym, park, and clothing line by the faeries?
He sighed as a youngling air fae floated about the circumference of his head, humming an old melody as she wove small pieces of fabric and wet leaves between the jagged spikes in his hair. In the middle, if one looked hard enough, lay an elder earth faerie, its orange tinted wings flickering to and fro as it blissfully snored and dreamt away.
“Yeah. Yeah, it’s fantastic. You know I’m also used as a bird perch as well. Apparently… I just have one of those faces that scream ‘approachable’.”
The fire fairy decided to visit Himuro and his wife to give them some help for the winter in the form of a warm and cozy home. She sits on the logs in the fireplace as she spoke to them, it quickly turns into her ranting about people who wronged her by looking at her funny or not putting enough chips in cookies. The temperature keeps rising and rising as her rants get angrier and soon the house is becoming as hot as a sauna.
Jin remembered what it was like to be petulant as the fire sprite. Having spent the first half of his life under the watchful eye of the Bureau, those who had practically raised him from infancy to become a hunter of otherworldly creatures, he knew full well the irritation and, daresay, hatred that entailed from particular narratives being drilled into one’s head.
But his annoyance was never one to literally cause his wife’s most treasured collection of house plants to wilt from the excruciating heat, unlike his small faerie friend who lived life on a short fuse.
Frantically, Jin waved a hand about in attempt to dry the beading sweat on his forehead. “ I hear ya about the funny looks… but y’might wanna tone the heat down just a little bit, buddy. Wife’s gonna be home soon and if she sees her Indian silk drapes on fire, it’ll be both of our heads. “
Not exactly the wordsmith in calming an easily offended fire fae, but perhaps invoking a bit of anxiety would soothe the situation.
Werewolf AU/special relationship phase: Skadi had been waiting for him at their assigned location but he's late. Tired of waiting for him, she wanders off to collect some berries. When he does show up she completely ignores him, there had to be some consequences for his tardiness.
Saiga was near out of breath once he made exit from the mountain’s pass; complacent he was in knowing his usual plot in keeping Cass pent up in an abandoned cavern with the her faerie companion, Yuji, as the wolf slithered off to ‘hunt rabbits’ for their supper. A gross deception on his behalf, then again, weren’t wolves always depicted as profuse liars and schemers? This wouldn’t be anything new to the girl nor to her faerie friend if ever they did find out.
At least the trek through the wood wouldn’t be too difficult. Regaining his breath, Saiga steeled himself to catch the woman’s scent; unearthly, a spice like autumn’s smoke and winter’s hearth fire, but tender still as spring’s newborn blossom and summer’s storm. Well, it was certainly more poetic when one was gifted with sharper senses than those of humans, and a penchant for tracking like no other wolf in the county knew of.
Naturally, it isn’t long until his long but stealthy strides take him to their meeting spot, a low whistle slipping from between his lips coming to a halt as Saiga took notice of Skadi’s absence. Her scent still lingered, carried on into the wood some distance away, but not far to where he could lose track. In his slight confusion, the man followed the thickening trail until he reached a verdant patch in a half clearing; bushels upon bushels of dark coloured berries, all of which were trivial compared to the kneeling figure clad in red but a few feet away from him.
A half smile plucked at the corner of his lips, a canine jutting out and glinting in what few mid afternoon rays of sunlight had filtered through the canopy. Saiga pushed his weight against a nearby trunk, arms folding along his chest before speaking, voice honeyed, smooth and dripping.
“ What a tender young creature! “ He purred, believing his lover were initiating a game of sorts.
But no response came from Skadi.
“ What a nice plump mouthful she will be. “ His tone raised slightly in a feeble attempt to capture her attention once more. But, when no response came, Saiga gave a small growl of irritation. “ Alright! So I’m late to the show again! “
Yuji, would you still like Pia if a werewolf bit her and she turned?
“ Of course I would! “ The spike of emotion sent his doubled wings to beat quickly like those of an insect. A redness rose in his cheeks; a fire that set in his veins at the sheer thought of his friend being bitten by– those brutish creatures. Those same brutish creatures who came in packs during their raids on the full moon and demolished homes belonging to the fae residing in the Gilded Wood in their feeble attempts at scavenging for food.
But only pack wolves were horrid and unforgiving, at the mercy of their alpha, killing and running to escape hunters from the city. So Yuji had heard, anyway. And it wasn’t as thought the faerie hated wolves… but it was certainly hard to trust them without some sense of caution.
“ She would still be the same Pia, even if she got bit! And we’d find a way to help her shifts! I know a völva in the woods, and she takes care of the fae and all good creatures. “
He’s so sure of himself, still pure with an earth fae’s naïveté.
“ -- Don’t they have any good meat dishes here? I thought small towns prided themselves on signature burgers or various roadkill. “
What was he supposed to tell the waitress? Yes, I’ll have three of your finest burgers. No cheese, no buns, no pickles, or sides. In fact, just give me the patties, hell, you don’t even have to cook them. He growled low under his breath. A few days without eating something that stuck to the ribs was grating on one’s spirit, certainly.
