The pain radiating throughout her body is sharp and persistent, the cuts that littered her burned her skin, yet despite all of it she knew she got lucky. In a split moment everything could have been different, she was seconds away from not escaping the building in time. This could have been worse. Much much worse.
She was too stubborn to stay overnight at the hospital, refusing any aid other than stitching up a few wounds, other than that she was persistent that she could handle it herself. Steve, of course, took it upon himself to change the bandages. Each touch was gentle and careful. It hurt to think she scared him…though if the roles were reversed Sharon would have been and would still be terrified.
Her hand reaches back when she feels the soft kiss between her shoulder blades, taking his hand in hers. “I’m okay….I promise.”
Steve worried a lot about Sharon. He knew her capable of wonders and she was his favorite person to partner with. She had been for a while. But despite the fact she was the greatest agent that ever was in SHIELD and ever would be and the fact that she was the most extraordinary person he had ever met, she didn’t have his endurance. He could get hurt on the field.
But her fate could be very worse. And he worried about the well being of everyone. Putting himself last all the time. But she was the person he loved. Her well being mattered most. He only wanted to work for her. But he also took care of her if she was injured. He thought she would do the same for him if role were reversed.
A kiss between her shoulder blades after patching it up. it was him showing his love and concern. “Good to know. Maybe you should get a shower now. To get rid of the blood.”
