It’s Sunday morning.

Or at least, it is for another fourteen minutes or so; the full moon had been last night, and they’d all of them seized the happy coincidence of the weekend to sleep as late as they could. There’s nothing worse than a full moon on a Sunday night, leaving all of them exhausted and peaky and just a little worried about Remus at seven in the morning at the start of a full week.

Sirius shuffles to the bathroom and then shuffles back, unceremoniously yanking open the hangings of James’ bed instead of his own.

    “Wake up, y’lazy bastard,” he says, and reaches in to shove his friend over so there’s room enough for him to slouch onto the bed, half leaning against the headboard. “We missed breakfast. Do your legs ache? My legs ache. You’ve drool on your face, by the way: have I ever told you how beautiful you look when you sleep? Mouth open, face all smooshed up into the pillow. Stunning.”
