thank you for always asking about Winter and therefore allowing me to indulge in my favourite pastime, talking about Winter!!!!

5: How did you choose their name and why? Was it simply based on vibes or is there any specific meaning behind the name? Are the reasons behind their name different in- and out of universe?

So Winter is loosely (veeeeeery loosely, at this point) based on Song Lan from mo dao zu shi/the untamed, who is known as "distant snow and cold frost". I do love to both be literal and one-word names, so Winter just kind of stuck. As he is a dnd character with the acolyte background, I melded this name choice into his backstory, that the temple he grew up in (a temple of Selune) named him Winter as that was the moon he was left there under as a child. It's also a very cold temple, located at the base of a nearly perpetually snow-bound mountain, and frankly devoid of any warmth and softness so Winter was also kind of a goal in a name; he should be still and cold and reserved. (This has failed magnificently but boy does he have a lot of religious trauma!!!)

He does not know his Orcish family name, despite a distant clan member appearing later, because he also has a whole lot of internalised issues from that upbringing about his Orcish lineage, and is a little (a lot) terrified of anyone else ever holding him to some kind of obligation, other than his husband. Also he was having a spectacularly bad day when they showed up so he just kind of hard shut down and fled to hide somewhere until they went away :')

12: Do you have a playlist for the character? What songs do you associate with them and why?

BOY DO I one of these days I should make a shorter curated version of Winter's playlist like I have with a few other character playlists. Because this one has 195 songs and is 12 hours and 30 minutes long, currently. Whoops?? I have a lot of emotions about this boy and his boy okay!!!

Here's one stand-out defining song that quite possibly I am all 88,366 existing plays on (I wish I were exagerrating there, but alas)(I did not realise they were such a small artist oh god I'm sorry dude I'm your entire listening stats)
